I heard it makes you gay.
I guess if you took it, it’d might make you straight?

PS: You’re already taking a different “it” on the reg.

Might want to look into aged garlic as a supplement for any statins. I was on very low level dosage of BP medicine, but discovered aged garlic and have since dropped the medicine (lasartan pill once every two days). The aged garlic worked very well for me. According to AI, it can't replace statins but can help.

I’ve taken it for over 2 years and have zero side effects. My cholesterol levels are now excellent. I have high cholesterol due to genetics, because I’m not overweight, eat healthy and exercise. I took statins prior to Repatha, but had some side effects. It’s kind of expensive, my insurance pays some and my pharmacy gets a coupon from the manufacturer, thus making my out of pocket only $25 per month.

About the same story except I've been taking it since it came out, was part of the clinical trials. Wonderful drug, changed my life after 7 heart attacks. BUT, you have to take a statin with it or it doesn't work. Usually low dose.

Highly recommend it.

Did a CAC test earlier this year and got a high score. Kinda shocked. Stress test was fine. My labs are good and I stay healthy. Lp(a) is high. Met cardiologist last week and he wants to put me on statins or repatha. Conflicted. Thought I was doing good!

What was your LDL? My cholesterol was 208 and my LDL was 110 went I ended up having 5 emergency bypasses.

Statins didn't work. Repatha did. Now chol is 140 and LDL 60 or lower

I think the insurance is dependent on your diagnosis. Familial hypercholestemia I think is the diagnosis. It would save a lot of lives if people with that diagnosis got on it sooner.

Get a new doctor who doesn’t parrot what the drug reps preach.“High cholesterol” is not the evil that has been portrayed and is only a part of the disease process.

I’ve been on it a year now. I tried every statin available and couldn’t tolerate it. Since I’ve been on it my life has gotten exponentially better. The leg cramps are gone and I can do anything I want.

Are you a doctor or otherwise medically trained to give advice like this?

I took it for 2 years after a heart attack. Only physical side effect was occasional runny shits for a day or two after each injection. Got my “bad” cholesterol down into the 20s. Also got my “good” cholesterol way too low and ended up having to go on testosterone shots. Cholesterol affects hormones. Insurance stopped paying for both and both are really expensive. Now I’m living with slightly high cholesterol and slightly low testosterone. It’s a toss up to me.

Repatha was hoped to be revolutionary, but what followed was lackluster. Stockholders were foaming at the mouth at the results of the low cholesterol results in the teens. But what they found was that it did not reduce cardiac events in a linear fashion.
