I lived in an area for years where you could buy benzos without a script. I had a high stress job and life and used them almost daily. They were so common we had a 12 hour charter flight we used regular and someone would always walk around before takeoff offering benzos. When I finally stopped taking them after a few years of regular ingestion is when I figured out I was addicted to them. Like others have said the detox off them is absolutely brutal. You can literally barely function on a daily basis and it stays that way for a month or more.
Wouldn’t recommend long term use.

I'd like to not white knuckle flights from LAX to Melbourne (16h55m) for more than 2/3 a of the flight.
I ain’t judging. The oncologist was more concerned that a doctors would prescribe it in my situation as an indefinite coping mechanism.

This
Coming back from Hawaii had a connection in Dallas
Took 0.5mg on the flight leaving Maui as we took off
I remember seeing the lights of Maui fade away and then next thing I remembered I was at home in New Orleans.
Have no recollection of landing in Dallas. Being in Dallas. A VAGUE memory of touchdown in New Orleans. No memory of the uber home.
.... they're wild
Yes I got these prescribed to me for my flight so I could sleep.
Benzo abuse is literally one of the dumbest things. Seeing how many patients take these DAILY blows my mind.
Benzo withdrawal CAN kill you.

Don't take any of that shite at all. Man up and deal with life. Those things are poison for you.

Does anyone take Valium anymore. That was my weakness a long time ago. By the grace of God it didn't kill me then, there is no other explanation.

Took them for 15 years. Combining them with alcohol is incredibly dangerous.

I was on Clonazepam for years to help with sleepwalking. It must have been a small dose because I never really felt any different while on it. But I started getting all these involuntary twitches and muscle spasms while on it. It drove me nuts. Finally, I had enough and tapered my dosage and got off after several months. Have never had any issues since.

Learned in treatment that benzos and alcohol are the only two things that can kill you during withdrawals. I have never had a thing for them. But man some of the horror stories I have heard in treatment. Worse that H or anything else.

Benzos are THE worst possible pill you can take. Even as directed by your doctor.

Aren't you the guy in a previous Kratom thread that went on a long speech abotu how kratom is evil and does no good and will only lead to ruin? It seems as if you have a self-control problem.
Many people do get hooked on benzos and have a bad time. MAny, many, many more people take as directed or only as needed and it's a God send for htem. As with just about anythign in life, good decision making and personal responsibilty goes a long way in determing outcomes.

Took three and lots of alcohol one night in high school. I ended up with a 12 or so hour blank spot in my memory.

I take .5 maybe once a month. And when I fly or go to the dentist.

And you're a textbook example of their benefits and how they're supposed ot be taken. It's why I roll my eyes when I see people talk about withdrawals and lives being ruined because of how evil the drug is.

Yes and oxycontin has benefits if taken only as prescribed and not handed out like candy (benzos are equally over prescribed). We saw where that got us. Especially when the state decides to crack down and doctors who should know better cut people cold turkey.
I'm glad you don't suffer from addiction but to dismiss the dangers of these drugs is foolish

I do think these kinds of drugs are way overprescribed, no argument from me there.

who has dismissed the danger? The point is that they aren't dangerous if you have impulse control and don't act like a retard and take 'em a handful at a time. There are major dangers from overindulging in beer, or sugar, or nicotine, or a thousand other substances too but for the majority of people who take them respoonsibly it's not a problem.

you can't ignore that Xanax very addictive and brutal thing to withdraw from. i haven't lived it but i have seen people go thru it.
Besides the withdraws, Bartards just suck to be around. Zero anxiety leads to a lack of self-awareness and seriousness.

Sure it CAN be addictive. Just like tobacco, nicotine, and myriad other things

I have no doubt this is true
My entire point is that when taken responsibily as you are supposed to, it's harmless and nothing to worry abotu. We can rail on the dangers of alcoholism but there's a shitton more people out there that can crack open a beer after work to unwind and not ruin their life than there are people that drink a case every day and die by 30. Once again it all comes down to personal responsibiltiy and impulse control.
The doctor didn't make you get addicted. The lab that manufactured the pill didn't make you get addicted. You got addicted because you like feeling good and you started taking 5 pills at a time instead of the half pill as needed that you were prescribed.

i've never done a single drug in my life except for a handful of hydrocodones over the course of a few days after getting my wisdom teeth pulled in 2005, so i dont know shite about shite. but i am friends with a girl on social media who i went to college with who posts these super long and weird diatribes against benzos and how they have ruined her life for a lot of the same reasons that people are posting on this thread. she was a super bubbly, friendly, beautiful girl back in the day, and on these videos she looks like a broken shell of a human. i dont know what these drugs did to her, or if it was something else and she's blaming the drugs, but it's pretty alarming. i feel like it's only a matter of time before she offs herself, which is really sad.
