Looking at upgrading from wife's 2012 Highlander. What do you like and don't like? Service issues etc.

Psh. Why aim so low to drive such a cheap car?

Wife liked the XC60 more. A bit sexier, with a cooler interior.
ETA: for all the down votes...and apparently blind MFers:

Get the Audi for now. Save the Lexus for when she is a grandma.

Have kids? The Q5 may be too small.

Wife is on her 2nd 350RX. First one was 7+ when we sold it. She wanted another one but I got her to try the Audi Q5 and the BMX X3. Audi was okay but the ride was stiffer and the inside was smaller. X3 ride was really stiff. She didn't want to step up to the price level of the X5 she didn't even test drive one.
She just likes the ride of the 350 RX. It has a softer ride and is not really sporty in performance. We never had a service issue in her previous Lexus. I changed the timing belt out one time because it was slightly over due but other than that not a single serious service issue. Same for her newer 2017.... nothing but schedule maintenance. Lexus service department is very difficult to beat, especially at our dealer in Houston. Make the appointment and they get things done quickly or just give you an equivalent lender. She pulls in to the service department and the RFID chip is scanned. They come out to meet her, know who she is and what is getting done. Does not involve me in any way. Lexus service is just awesome.
If your wife is into sporty and likes to drive quick, take hard turns, etc... a Lexus might not be the car for her. If she likes comfort... then take a hard look. Probably the single best reliable brand of car we have ever had.

I have a q5 for my general run around car.
Empty nester so pretty much keep back seats down and have it set up for the dogs and luggage.
I like it cause small if running around the city.
The sales pitch is agile.
It is very agile.
Handles well and accelerates very good.
When not in city it is on the highway a lot as my commuter between Houston and Baton Rouge.
I do not really worry about gas mileage but I did get the 2.0 and it gets ridiculously good gas mileage and no problem with acceleration
..... doing 50 and wanting to get to 80 to pass something.
It is a great run around vehicle for city or highway.

We are in the market for the RX 350. I have yet to read any negative comments on them that would give me pause.

This is good info. Trying to decide on a used Grand Cherokee or Audi suv to purchase for safety reasons. Thanks.

How long do you plan to keep the vehicle?
Audi will be without question be more sporty, but will more costly to service (Audis typical tend to eat brakes and the notorious engine carbon build-up). Audi should be reliable but not as much as Lexus and will take a larger hit on depreciation.
IT Just depends on what the priority is in this scenario.

Pirate King,
You consider it a good choice for safety?

Both are safe, Cherokee was the top safety pick.
When it comes to safety, you need to look at airbags, crash avoidance, and of course physics. Physics almost always wins, large body on frame SUVs with all the safety features cannot be beat.

She doesn't drive it much, only has 83k on current car. We mostly use my truck for long trips etc. I really like the Lexus rx350 sport, will probably go check them out

Wife has the RX350. Had a Pilot and a Highlander before this one. Loved all three but RX is the best, Lexus IS #1 in customer satisfaction for a reason. The European cars cost too much to maintain.
