132 is my personal best in a Chevy Impala middle of nowhere Texas it was just me, middle of the day and a long stretch of straight road. I probably wouldn’t do it again that was 15 years ago

I may or may not have hit 155 in the middle of nowhere in a Colorado valley with nobody around.
Whereabouts? I also hit my personal best on an interstate stretch heading east through Colorado.

Hit 140mph on I-5 north of San Diego early morning. Slowed down for what felt like forever and was still between 90-100mph. Very dumb.

Sold mine after my riding buddy died after hitting a coyote crossing the road. The thrill just wasn't worth it anymore. I have never been on another one since I sold it.

I know a guy who was an Oklahoma Highway Patrol officer. He is now retired. When he was on active duty, he patrolled the Turner Turnpike which connects Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Maximum speed is 75 mph except for a small stretch between Kellyville and Tulsa where it is 80 mph.
I asked him how often he had to pull someone over for doing more than 100 mph, and his answer was "every day".

145 is the fastest I've driven. Probably had another 10 mph with that car but back country roads in the middle of the night was the wrong time and place for that anyway.

162…151…143….back in the days when you could actually open it up in certain places between BR and Destin.

Took my old 911 to 140. That was pretty awesome. Fastest I’ve ever gone tho.

I had a buddy who'd bought a cammed, built 340 Duster, sweetest sound at idle I'd ever heard. He quickly admitted that it was just too much car, his headstone an imminent reality, and sold it within weeks.

They always say "it's not you, it's the drivers around you". Yeah that's a bunch of crap. It was 100% me that was going to get myself in trouble.
Finally one of you admits it! Thank you.

My PB on a lonely stretch in roughly Socorro NM, driving past an entrance to the VLA, broadly featured in the film Contact. Conditions seemed perfect: wide open straightaway views, no cars, no cattle, no crossroads, clear day. Nothing could go wrong. Except that sudden crosswind at 155 that shifted me one lane over.

I have gotten my last car and the one I now own to 110 before letting up on the gas.

Did you know that a Genesis can hit 130 or so?

Done it a handful of times before kids when passing that area in NO East where you start seeing all of the car lots; don't recall if that's just past the Bullard?
After kids, I have gotten close when driving in the middle of the night to Disney or Gatlinburg. But it never fails that as I start hitting the 90s, the wife wakes up and makes a big deal about it

Had a crotch rocket in my early 20s and got it up to 165 on the highway. I still had a lot of throttle left to go at that speed.
I'm 67 and have been riding since my 20's. I currently ride a Concours14 (considered a "sport" touring bike) which is the same motor as the Ninja 1400 ... wicked fast motor even when tamed from the Ninja version..
I got a lesson on just how fast this bike was when passing an 18 wheeler on a 2 lane country road in Arkansas. I went from approx 60 MPH to substantially over double that easily over the length of the vehicle I was passing... I was shocked at not only how quickly/effortlessly it got to the speed I was at but also how relatively little wind buffeting I was experiencing..
Mad respect for the performance capabilities of this (and similiar) bikes...

Had a full Bolton c5 I got to 145 on elevated highway coming back from Patterson. This was before 90 was a roller coaster around bayou black. Had plenty plenty left.

every car I've had has gone over 100 with me at the wheel.
When I bought both of my previous mustangs, they exceeded it within an hour of purchase. Gotta test it to make sure it works, or something like that.
Same for me, except it was before buying the car. Part of the test drive, and I tell them that.
Only one i didn't was my first, a mercury bobcat that maxed out at 73
