Honda is not near the reliability of Toyota in general.
Accord = Camry as to reliability
Either car is a great pick, I’ve put my kids in both.

I have a 22 Camry SX I guess. Sporty one 4cy. Gets about 37mpg. 75k miles so far, no problems.

No experience with Camrys really, but a cousin has like a 2019 or so with over 250k miles on it and only had had to change a radiator fan on it. Thing still runs like a champ.

I have a 2014, 2021 and a 2022. The 22 is my favorite currently but it’s nearly identical to the 21. The 21 has had 3 recalls but it has a few more bells and whistles.

Get a used ES350. All the stuff you want to find in a Camry come standard and they run forever. Great cars.

Never get the first year of a new generation. They'll always have a few bugs that will get fixed in subsequent years. 2025 is the first of the XV80 generation so I'd stay away from it.

I drive a 2020 Carolla. Also around 100 miles a day. I've put 70,000 trouble free miles on it so far in the last 3 years. I'll drive it until the wheels fall off.

You can’t really go wrong with a Camry/Corolla or an Accord. I wanted a Camry but got too good of a deal to pass up on an Acura RDX. I see so many Nissan/Infiniti’s on the road and I just don’t get why they are buying an inferior product that will not hold up.

2019 stripped down camry from the dealer rental fleet. The tires are arse, and will be replaced soon. Other than that, it's the best of the 4 cars we own. The only car that hasn't had any issues since purchase.

2003-2005 money
Late in 2005 my wife ran into a military convoy, totaled her car.
We bought a '05 Toyota Camry, without a note.
I just traded it in last Halloween for $2,550.
Car was just short of 19 years and 200K.

That has not been my experience.
From number of recalls, subsystem component failures, replacement parts prices, etc. Toyota is the superior brand today.
20-30 years ago, you may have an argument. But today, Honda puts far too much trust in their sub suppliers, and the overall reliability has gone down.

Normally a Toyota man, but inherited the MIL's 2015 accord and it has been great.
I've had 2 Camrys in the past and both were great cars. My most recent purchase of a commute car was a 2023 Accord, though, and I love it.

Had several over the years. Always great reliable cars.

Wife had one a few years back, my personal opinion is it was a piece of shite.
I liked driving it and it was nice but if you ever hit anything (like she did) all the plastic brackets pop and the bumpers get all wacky.
There's a lot of plastic
Also, ours started burning oil and eventually blew a head gasket but that was mostly her fault. (long story).

23 and 24 are the last two years of the previous bodystyle that had been around since 2018, so those are a safe bet.
25s are more of an extremely heavy refresh than an all-new car like some would have you believe, but they are hybrid only. Supposedly they are lovely cars, I haven’t driven one.
They are basically the most reliable car on the road. I sold used cars for almost 10 years and the bottom line is that it is almost impossible to buy a bad Camry. I have seen so many with high miles in awful condition still running like a champ.
Don’t bother getting a hybrid if you’re doing that much driving, you won’t see a meaningful fuel economy difference relative to the extra money you’ll spend up front for the hybrid. You’ll get maybe 5 mpg better on the highway.
Get an LE if you want a simple basic car that’s going to be inexpensive up front, these also come with the smallest wheels and will therefore have the softest ride. Get an XLE if you want some features and a little luxury, and get an SE if you want a “sporty-looking”(read: ugly) car that rides worse than it needs to. The SE is the most popular variant so they’ll be the easiest to find, unfortunately.

They are good but the technology in Toyotas is 5 years behind

Get one from around 2010-12 with 100k You’ll pay $8-10k and can probably drive that fricker the rest of your life
This. I picked up a 2012 with 125k mi and have been rolling it as my daily. Wife was against the idea at first but now realizes how much we use it. We take that fricker everywhere. If I could launch my boat with it, I would.

And that is, broadly, exactly why their vehicles are so robust and reliable.
The only area in which Toyota really innovates is in the hybrid sector. Otherwise, most of the stuff in their cars, mechanically and otherwise, is 5+ years old at any given point and that’s why it works so well and never breaks.
A perfect example is how Toyota and Lexus used the same cruise control stick for close to 20 years in just about every car both companies made. That company takes if “it ain’t broke don’t fix it” to a level that no other car company does.
