Yes - years ago my cutlass was stolen from uncle earls. At first I thought I couldn’t remember where I parked lol.
The cops found it later that night, and I started it with a screwdriver for about a week until the shop could repair it.

My Jeep Cherokee was stolen from the parking lot where I worked in high school. Apparently all they had to do was substitute a screwdriver for the key, and it started right up. The cops found it wrecked in north Baton Rouge with the engine still running and everything that wasn't bolted down stolen.

I had someone steal my car on accident once and apparently they ditched it about a mile away when they figured out it wasn't their car

Usually thieves use it to commit another crime then dump it.

I’ve had a total of 28 vehicles between mine (personal & company), Mrs Füt, the little Füts, my first ownership starting in the ‘70s.

Zero stolen.

One totaled (Katrina)-

When i was a kid in the 90's my dad got his car stolen on Claiborne in New Orleans. It was found the next day about 4 blocks over with a bunch of menthols in the ashtray, and Master Ps Ice Cream Man album still in the CD player.

I had that CD for years.

Truck out my driveway in October 2018, Thibodaux.

Then my sister got her car stolen 2 weeks later, Laffy.

I got my truck back but they crashed and burned her car.

yeah I swear almost every car stolen story is from Mardi Gras. They probably were just too drunk to find their car so they said it was stolen though

Yeah turns out we accidentally parked the car both times a couple miles away in an alley in the 7th and 9th ward and in our drunken state completely stripped the cars out as well.

Did you leave a valet key inside?

I'm actually surprised at how many cars the police find.

From a Saints Game in the 90’s. They found it in New Orleans East a week or so later. It was set on fire. The cops identified it by the VIN on the oil pan.

My was stolen from Fairway View Apartments on College drive. They used my credit card to tank it up in New Orleans. Keys were still in my pocket as they drove off.

Had a truck stolen a few years ago. I was out of town for work and someone hopped a locked gate at work, hot wired it and crashed it thru the fence. I was set to go pick up my insurance check a few weeks later and the police called the night before and said it was found at a towing yard. It had been ditched at a truck stop.

I pondered my options and decided to go collect the check and just forget the cops called. I had Liberty Mutual and they took very good care of me! They checked around and got what an average cost was to replace my exact truck and even paid me TT&L. I had also put new tires on it the month before and had the receipt. They paid me for the tires.

Yes.

State Farm says they will pay claim in 30 days (as they hope for a recovery.)

I went and bought a car after a week.

Sherriff found car on Day 28. Insurance paid for light repairs on car. Then I sold it.

FWIW, stolen from the hotel on corner of Williams and Vets, 1992. Car was an '88 Mustang 5.0
