I worked at KNOE in the 90s, they still had a rack of what I like to think were his and Jack's old sports jackets.
Was rooting around in the warehouse one day and came across a box of reel-to-reels with the old Chickenman episodes they played during afternoons on FM102 in the 70s and early 80s.

I remember watching Freddy as a kid
Yep. And I was in Hong Kong and saw him come on and thought wtf.
Apparently he was created in Minneapolis and the markets that show it are there, Monroe, Augusta GA, and Hong Kong

I had this exact same thought.
What great memories those are for me.

If yall remember all this old school KNOE history I bet yall remember the old time and temp number? Probably still active for all I know. For some reason when you got busted as a youth doing something dumb by an adult that wasn’t your parent, they always wanted your phone number. I bet the old time and temp number was thrown out well over 350 times growing up by my crew of delinquents. Often by 3 or 4 of us at the same time.

And June. I remember when I moved to Monroe trying to figure out how she was ever on TV
A lot of people wondered the same. The rumor was, she was old man Noe's side piece and that's how she got the job.

Yep - back when I was growing up in Sterlington until I moved to Shreveport in the mid 70's.

Did he play the organ? As a kid in the 60's I would get up at like 5 or 6 on Sat. and the watch ag news and early morning show, and I'm pretty sure it was Ch. 8.

Anyone from Northeast & North Central Louisiana who grew up watching KNOE at that time will always remember when & where they were when they found out John Denison was gay.

If I’m not mistaken, Benson and Sanford and Son reruns followed the late news on weeknights.

I remember my uncles saying he was gay an my mother and aunt saying they were lying… 90-91 if had to guess… some guys I played little league with stayed down the street from Mrs. Judy off Lamy Lane if I’m remembering correctly

Dave Norris was a man of three hats:
-morning show host,
-music director of McGuire Methodist in West Monroe, &
-Professor out at ULM.
I sure enjoyed Cookin' with Diane Cage in the mornings.
Growing up in Monroe in the 90's was pretty cool.
Can't imagine it would be cool today.
