Anyone been to the Sonoran Desert in AZ?

As the title states - Has anyone been to the Sonoran Desert in Arizona before?
How is it in the winter there?
It looks like beautiful desert landscape that I’ve always wanted to visit. I’m looking to one day purchase land out there. And for those that know, would a cedar lodge/house hold up to the extreme temperatures there over time? Thank you!

Never been to that particular desert, but its colder and windier than you would expect. Without trees to stop the wind, it can be pretty biting when it has some chill.

Lived out there south of Tucson for several years.
Polar opposite of LA living. The desert is inhospitable at best. Everything there will stick you, bite you or sting you. Beautiful vistas but you look down at your feet and it’s ugly as sin. The desert looks great from a distance.
Summers are what you expect. Hot as frick and dry. Winters are shockingly cold. High winds and dust. Goddamn the dust. It’s like moon dust and gets into EVERYTHING. After big wind storms that shite would be in the house. You can’t keep it out.
But I had good times out there. Great people, great golf, tons of outdoor activities. Tucson is a really cool town.
Heads up when you buy desert property though. The land is cheap up until you find out it comes without utilities. Like someone said, you have to pay for a well and septic tank. Then you have to pay to have electric run in from the nearest available line. That can cost tens of thousands.
A wood house would be a terrible idea. Almost all of the construction is thick wall block / adobe style and there is a reason. Insulation and strength against the hurricane winds are the reason.

Wells aren't easy to come by, and are typically denied in the permitting process.
Water delivery services are the way to go, but even they are having some issues with getting water now
( Not like Kentwood, whole-house water services)

Flew from DFW to LAX recently. Had Google Maps open the whole time following along. It’s amazing how dry, desolate and isolated everything looks. I can’t believe people live there.

Lived there for a spell. Tucson is okay. Bisbee is kinda cool. Sierra Vista has Filberto’s, then nothing else lol. Tombstone was just transitioning from campy tourist trap to something pretty cool when I lived that way.
