I have two that live down the street who are in their late 60’s that seem happy and content. One’s a psychologist, the other is retired. They have an Australia Sheppard they walk every day around the neighborhood.
Both from New Orleans. Both left after Katrina. Neither is cute. No pics.

I once offered to buy an attractive woman a drink at a bar. She politely refused, and then some crazy bull dyke came running in and punched me. She learned the meaning of equality that night though. Not sure if they were a happy couple or not though

I know someone who is a lesbian up to the point of her never verbally identifying as a lesbian. She has never had a partner (male or female).. At least not openly.
Its just obvious to the point where it would be surprising if she started dating a man and claim she is straight.
She isn't the most happy person. Actually she is pretty miserable to be around and has a negative attitude.. And seems to be frustrated more times than not.
With that said, a girl I have known since HS is a lesbian. She is married and they are not any more or less happy than the average married couple.
It seems like its a generational thing. The younger a gay person in general is, the more acceptable it has been for them.

Got some lesbian friends that are pretty cool. They never last with their SOs, but are a hell of a lot of fun during the break up on their post break up binges. Not friends with the bulldyke lesbians, but the lipstick and borderline chapstick lesbians I tend to get along with. If you ever have the chance to go on a bender with them, I think they’re better than gay guys for helping you get laid since the gay guys tend to get jealous.
