My Grandpa on my mom's side is from Transylvania. Passed away before I was born. Still have family from that area.

Isn’t Transylvania a Mennonite town?

I did always enjoy the ‘hot bats’ at that gas station. FWIW, got a pretty scary story stopping there in the middle of the night to take a piss. Most scared I’ve been in my life.

From Newellton, sister from Tallulah. Spent quite a bit of time in LP. Everyone else summed it up.

Not sure. My Grandpa's family were Baptist.
I'd like to hear that story

Probably a cousin of mine

I may know your cousin if her family is big time farmers. I visit friends several times per year that put on a huge crawfish boil, and a corn boil. Great people. I agree Melville is struggling big time. Governor Jindal shut down the ferry, Cannatellas closed the only grocery store last year, and the last remaining gas station closed 10 years ago. Sadly there ain’t much left in Melville.

You could see some shite at Sweet Peas.

Used to be crew of Pardons roaming around over there. Called em the “barefoot Pardons!” They’d be up in the bar barefoot.

There are Mennonites in E. Carroll. At one time they had the only little restaurant in town. Damn smell of that bread was wonderful. Not sure if it's open now.

Drove from Lafayette to Waterproof back in the day (before Academy had them in stock) to pick up a tripod stand from the manufacturer. Looks like a great place to hunt, but it took fricking forever to get up there.

MS Delta Chinese

He’s not wrong at all. Hearing them speak fascinates me. I can’t distinguish it from anyone else I know from the Delta. The video above is just a short little history about them.
