Used to drive through there from Ruston to Baton Rouge. Pretty lake, nice camp houses. Always figured it was a hidden gem. At least it was nicer than Transylvania.

WTF? Did you drive through Longview to get to New Orleans?

Hard for you younger broncs to remember or believe I’m sure, but Lake Providence at one time was a vibrant beautiful little town. I think they used to host the Miss Louisiana pageant. Lot of money there back in the day and some actually decent looking gals. Same for neighboring Tallulah.

Not sure what highways and loops are in place now, but going to Zachary, a man used to take Rustin - Tallulah - Transylvania - lake Providence - Sicily Island speed trap - Vidalia - Natchez - on down 61 to get where you’re going. Used to be a pretty drive.

I’m guessing you are confusing lake providence with Vidalia or Ferriday maybe.

So Ruston to Tallulah on HWY 80, then north to Transylvania and Lake providence on 65, then go through Delhi/Crowville/Gilbert to Sicily Island, then through Vidalia to Natchez?

Either there was some good pussy in Lake Providence or you had a lot of time and gas to kill.

That would be the kind of route my wife would take. I’m sure you are thinking of Lake Bruin.

I spent two me at both those lakes in my youth. Had the boat races at Lake Providence.

Man, just looked at the map. I’m all mixed up. Used to make that drive from Little Rock as well. My bad. Carry on. The OT got me on this one.

I swear Lake Providence used to be a quaint little town tho. Lake with camps up and down it.
