When I worked there from83-85 it was always fresh never frozen. The meat came in bulk from San Antonio. We had to run the bulk meat through a pattyy machine every morning.

Chicken Sandwiches were made fresh as needed also. Chicken breast would sit in Butter milk, then rolled in a season flour mixture, and fried under pressure in a Henny Penny fryer.

Chocolate Ice Milk was what was put in the Frosty machines. Best chocolate milk I have ever drinking.

Chili is made from dried out meat left on the flat top grill to long. it is collected kept in freezer for up to five days. the meat is boiled and chopped and added with other ingredients to make chili. the chili is cooked in big double boiler pots for minimum of 4-1/2 hours.

Baked Potatoes and salad bar was introduced to the menu in early eighties to entice women who were joining the workforce in big numbers to eat lunch at Wendys.

In 1985 Wendy opened a fried Chicken store called Sisters chicken in New Orleans off Clearview it did not take off and last long.

They first introduced breakfast early in 1985 omelets. I quit working for Wendy's in March 1985 right after the breakfast was launched.

Yeah that's cool, just don't make it all about the sandwich, make fun of their physical appearance too.

I worked at the S. Clearview Wendy's during that exact time... I hated cleaning that patti machine.

I don't know how they prepare their chicken now but they have ruined the best chicken sandwich ever!!!!!

They keep it at 35 degrees for X many hours so it's technically classified as "never frozen".

It's not like it's some kind of trickery. Freezing causes physical changes to the properties of the meat. If you stay above freezing these changes don't occur. Keeping it as cold as possible without freezing is not their way of scamming anyone.

Dave's Double with cheese and bacon...no onions and extra pickles after a 4000 swim. So good.

Would and did. You don't get to be assistant manager by not fricking the restaurant's namesake.

I dislike the new fries.
They also need to bring back the original pickles and white onions.
Did they change the bun also?

I have only eaten there twice since the changes. Second time was to try without the new pickles and purple onions. Burger didn't taste the same.

I haven't done it lately, but I have been known to get a Wendy's burger and then slide thru the McD's drive thru, on my way home, and get an order of their fries.
