Hell the old ones had problems, a good friend of mine had one and it stayed broke down as much as running.

I bet he put 15 U joints in it over five or so years

I love it when people are happy about not having any issues on a brand new car. Hell I would hope not! My 4Runner has been flawless with 289k miles.

Dismal fuel economy and low volume. Guessing they dumped it for Fed Govt CAFE reasons.

But yes, it is the #1 vehicle in retaining value. Going OOP didn't hurt.

Thanks, Obama.

Odd. I don't care for the looks of the FJ at alll.

Yeah who the hell is wanting an FJ? They are fricking terrible. My dad had one for like 2 months because he was cheap and didn’t want to buy a new truck, so he tried out an FJ. The visibility is terrible as well as the blind spots, horrible gas mileage, one of the worst 2 door cars I’ve been in to get into the back seat, etc. I think my dad only kept it 2 months because he was too embarrassed to sell it sooner.

How could you buy a new bronco when you could buy a used civic and spend the difference fighting racial injustice?

all of this
you can’t see out of it, getting into the back seats you have to be a contortionist and it gets horrible mileage

and the damn top doesn’t even come off

wrangler has similar issues but at least you can open it up and enjoy nice weather. I’ve rebuilt two Broncos (a 74 and working on an 80) and Ford got it right the first time. There was no reason to re-invent the bronco. All it had to do was meet safety regs (which wrangler has no problem doing) and they’d have sold millions of them.

Instead they made it expensive and complicated

It had it faults too IMO.

No hardtop, plenty of blindspots, awkward looking from some angles. I don’t think they ever offered a manual tranny but could be wrong.

Shame we don’t get the FJ70 in the states

Well they’re brand new models that have for the most part only been out for the last six to eight months. OP said he heard about engine problems and asked if anyone had experience. Obviously he’s talking about engines in brand new vehicles. Do you think someone is going to chime in with, “I’ve got 100k miles on my 3 month old vehicle and it runs great”?

If you want the same experience get a wrangler which consistently holds value

Wranglers, especially newer Gladiator are garbage vehicles. People must be tiring of Gladiator, I see them on all the used car lots now
It blows my mind that people are surprised of reliability issues on a first model year vehicle.
