Anybody else ever have a girl breakup with you because of their friends

Long story short I found out the real reason I was dumped was basically my exes roommate is a complete count who hates me because I'm college educated and not the typical trash she likes which is your oil field baw type and so she basically had been shite talking me to my gf for the past 6 months and slowly she bought into it. Anybody else have something similar happen to them?
