I’m admittedly scared about having my MRI tomorrow morning. I have to wear a mask which makes it worse in my opinion.

Any tips on on how to make it better?

Wanted to say thanks for the helpful input, the eye-mask and Xanax made it much easier than I was thinking it would be.

Thanks again.

MRIs are fine, just loud.

You may actually fall asleep while in it.

Noise canceling headphones and some good music or a podcast. I believe in you, Jerm. You can do it.

why would you have to wear the mask inside of an MRI machine?

Wear all of the chains, rings, and metal apparel that you have. Think of it like the gravitron ride at the fair

An Open MRI is easy. the old school closed MRIs suck. I had my doc give me a xanax the third time I had to be stuffed in that can and that helped immensely. I had an Open MRI on my shoulder a couple of years ago and it was easy.

Maybe your machine will have music pumped into it..

I’ve had one where they were playing Led Zeppelin

Valium/xanax.

Im rather claustrophobic and have had several MRI's. Last two i was given valium and it helped. The mri tech even put a towel over my eyes which actually helped me.

I consider myself claustrophobic. I don't even like to sit in the back seat of two-door cars.

But I literally took a nap inside that silver cylinder.

Open MRIs are garbage compared to a conventional MRI. Poor quality.

Best advice is to hold still so that you don't have to repeat any portion of it.
