Thinking of trying my hand at writing as a hobby. Any of you baws done something similar? I’m thinking about Gresham-type stuff but in a shorter format.

Couple of drawings back in the 80s. One in a calendar, another in the University annual art review.

My 4th grade book fair short story was presented at the Walton arts center for a week. I'm a pretty big deal.

Lsuzombie and another poster wrote a book about a teenager who gets off to sharks eating her friends. True story.

I bought/read it. It's not terrible.

I had a couple of technical whitepapers published about 10 years ago. I just did a search for it and saw it has been compiled (along with dozens of other papers) in a hardback book that is for sale by Wiley for just under $100.

I write regulatory policies for my institution. Does that count?

My best friend back home writes short stories, but he's never sought publishing.

"The waves approached the beach in synchronized swirls typifying California's assumed perfection."

I remember that excerpt from one of his stories.

I used to work for The Sporting News online and would submit a paragraph (or less) of context regarding the daily topical GIFs I was hired to create.

I enjoyed writing, especially if I could word the last sentence to where it indirectly reflected the arguably clever headline I hooked them into clicking on.
