I was in Germany when it happened. Was quite the story at the time. I think he was in 11ACR, but i could be misremembering.

I heard it around 92 and was told at the time it was around before that.

This would have been around 1989 or 90. Heard versions of it multiple times. I’d imagine it’s possible this story has some origin in some true story at some point. But even then it had already become something of the military version of an urban legend kind of like the husband throwing Jody out of the window.

I get the anger, but was the ho worth 45 years of his life? Of course, you could also ask Jody if the cooter was worth losing his head.
The marriage was already over, this guy totally over reacted - maybe he’s just nuts and the wife knew it and that’s why she wanted out.
Plus if he cheated - how would he get caught? It’s not like he could get anyone pregnant.
