The Woodlands is a nice area, but to talk to the people that live there or around there you’d think it was the Hamptons.
Never seen a suburb so high on themselves. Like the all fart into a wine glass and sniff it as they talk about how great their community service is for the local ghetto that is Humble TX

Yeah, my in laws. They all fricking suck except one. They haven’t even met their grand daughter who turns 3 soon. If you see them riding bikes, I’ll send ya $100 to run em over.
When’s your divorce thread?

I’ll probably die of a heart attack before she gets the chance. I’d offer her as tribute to you, but she doesn’t like gingers.

I can understand why folks in the Woodlands don’t want to travel to BR. Ever think about brining the kid to visit them? Especially if it’s so important to you.

Live in Orlando. They’ve been to Disney twice since she was born and didn’t have time to tell my wife until the day they were leaving.
Really no sweat off my back. My parents come all the time, her mother who is poor as hell will make the trip from BR (with some financial assistance). Everyone has their own priorities.

Really just looking for food, golf, and bars
Posted on 8/3/23 at 7:45 pm to QuadStalker1991
Been here about a decade so if you have any specific questions just lemme know. Plenty of good food, good golf, the bar scene has improved tremendously since I first got here, and several breweries in the vicinity. Good place to be if you’re active with the walking paths everywhere and several run and bike groups based here.
ETA after your latest post-
Second the BabyTac rec of joining somewhere. Carlton Woods, Woodlands CC, and Woodforest are the top of the line ones in the area. I’m out at Windcrest and there are a ton of Tiger fans over there. Highland Pines is the best public course in the area. You can join there and get membership that includes Augusta Pines and another course as well

Bars I can’t help you a whole lot with. There’s a good nightlife district around the waterway. Reminds me a lot of the Domain area in Austin. Food the same. Most are located in that Hughes Landing area.
Great steakhouses and seafood places. Also great Asian food. Your typical Morton’s, Flemings, Perry’s. Kirby Steakhouse is good as well. Lot of Asian influence in the Houston area so great sushi places.
Like I said, golf join a course. Your local public options are River Plantation, Cypresswood (in Spring), and Panorama in Conroe. Not bad courses, but crowded and higher than they should be.

I have a relative living there in the area. He loves it! That’s all I got.

Moved to The Woodlands 15 years ago and worked in different parts of Houston during that time. Now actively job searching for opportunities inside the bubble (CPA with mostly oil & gas Controller experience).
There are a lot of companies headquartered here and I probably just need to increase the efforts. I like Houston but would love being able to spend 98% of time in TW.

Very nice subdivision.
Houses a little too close together for me.
