Met some ladies from TW on a girls trip to the La Burge in LC. They were all bartenders. They worked at some place called the Sawyer park ice house. Said they have live music. Supposed to be a real happening place.

I enjoy regular Mexicans. Are Mexicans with money even better?

I had job interviews in the Woodlands and Naples. I asked on here, because everyone made the Woodlands sound like it was a utopia. Most on here said "Naples". I couldn't be happier. I came to SWFL, sight unseen, after interviewing in the NE. Living 8 miles from the Gulf is amazing. The Woodlands was upper-class "malls", and like here, no history. Both feel a little like Stepford, but I wouldn't change living near the beach and away from a big city that is less than and hour away, for anything. Good luck, on the new adventure.

Please quit comparing the Woodlands to anything in Louisiana. The latter is the absolute biggest shithole in the country.

I see that the general attitude/defensiveness in both places
are the same with your response. It’s called an analogy. I guess recent transplants do not understand the fact that when I say “Texas Sized”, I’m referring to the fact that “everything is bigger in Texas.”

I was honestly paying a compliment to both suburbs by using the analogy of the “best in class/clean/well run/quality” gas stations (QT vs Buccees), using these examples to reinforce the size difference between the two suburbs.

Your response is like a UGA/tOSU/Bama football fan being offended if I referred to Mater Dei/St. John Bosco/IGM as the high school equivalent of those programs.

Your words are waisted on the Woodlands people. Unless speaking to you counts as charity and they can post on Facebook about it, everyone is beneath them and a waste of space in this world.

Skip the TW, look at Magnolia or Montgomery for peace & quiet. This coming from a baw who lived in the ghetto that is Humble/Atascocita and sought peace & quiet, which you ain’t gettin in TW. If you want the TX version of the Northshore, TW is your place. And the post on swingers and Tommy Bahamas is dead on, weirdly dead on, unless that’s your thing.

Very nice subdivision.
Houses a little too close together for me.

It's a little more than a subdivision. It can definitely be played up to be fancier than it is. There are extremely fancy sections, then there's your typical upper middle class sections, down to truly affordable areas. But you will get less house for your buck. You are paying to be part of the community. Been here a while and there's so much for the family. The schools are top notch. Every parent is involved. There's always a free concert, art show, or random festival. Summer camps, parks, pools for the kids all summer. I even picked up new hobbies with all the outdoor stuff to do such as free archery range, running, swimming, and cycling clubs, etc..

Is it a bit "fabricated"...yes. Are the houses a bit on top of each other, yes (but I did find a bit of an exception when I bought my second house here). If you are single, there is a nightlife area, but its nothing compared to a younger area of town like the heights. You will find better deals on houses outside, but after living here, I'd rather live in the heart of the community than live close enough.

I know you need to eat at Corkscrew BBQ every day for lunch and dinner. That brisket is the best I’ve ever had.
