>70 years old, obese, diabetic, history of heart disease...known risk factors that increase mortality with covid infection. Those people should probably get vaccinated.
Unfortunately the virus was politicized very early. Scare tactics and lockdowns drove away a lot of people from trying to understands the actual risks related to covid. Had the media been honest from the get go, the obese cop may have taken the virus and the vaccine a little more seriously.

Obese guy with sedentary job dies from/with Covid.
That hasn't happened to this point, ever.

Look its sad a husband and father lost his life. That sucks. But the dark side of me finds some humor in this.
If you can't laugh at the irony then you take life too serious. And I don't care if it is Covid or he was in the middle of a field during a thunderstorm yelling "Lightning will never hit me" and then he get hit by lightening.. There is always a little humor in it.
If this story is even true. Yahoo.com puts out some bullshite and it seems like ive seen that family Christmas pic before.

But he wasn’t healthy
He’s morbidly obese with a sedentary job and lifestyle

As of May 12, there were approximately 6300 deaths in the US to individuals age 30-39. Despite being obese, his chances of death were still very low.
It’s amazing how many people think “well, he was obese so it was almost guaranteed he would end up in the hospital and probably die”. Statistically that is 100% incorrect. The odds were vastly in his favor, but he died anyway.
I’m with NC Tigah....I would love to know when did he first seek treatment and what treatments did he get. That is probably the real story that everyone is missing.

Well, it isn’t just whether you die or not. A lot of obese people have had a rough go of it being hospitalized, prolonged recovery etc.
Would you still not rather be vaccinated than hospitalized and struggling to breathe?

And more, by a lot, have done fine in this guys age group.

And it is still a relative risk issue. His risk (for significant morbidity) was much higher being unvaccinated than vaccinated. Yes, it was still his choice

Guy’s definitely overweight but I don’t view him as “obese” as compared to peers (though I understand he is according to published medical height/weight ratio charts). However, combined with a high risk to exposure job and having a young family he probably should have gotten the vaccine (hindsight).
It’s just sad that this whole thing has become so politicized that many aren’t (on both sides) making rational decisions.
I wish headline was just “young father dies tragically.” But I understand that’s not going to happen.

I thought the left was concerned with my body my choice? If so, why does the left care about the outcome?

Say whatever you want..... you have a better shot at being struck by lightning than dying of Covid if you are under 60 and don't have pre-existing conditions. That is a FACT!!

Congrats, you managed to find the first person in the history of ever to be anti-covidvax and die from covid. Now do those who were pro-vax and then died of covid.

Visually he looks like one of the people in his age group who should have seriously considered that vaccine from a purely medical POV.
Blood type and skin color has a far greater affect than anything else...

Are you negating obesity as a pre-existing condition, if not then the point is not relevant to the thread.

Are you suggesting more people that got one of the vaccines have died from COVID than people that did not get the vaccine?

Yeah but the odds are significantly higher of dying from Covid vs dying from the vaccine.
At this point in time the odds of catching covid are extremely low, so choosing to take something that could have adverse effects can be considered riskier.
You can't win the lottery if you don't play.

Uhm where are you getting your facts from. From a quick Google search,
quote:
Lightning kills an average of 49 people each year in the United States and hundreds more are injured.
