I fail to understand why sites like this don't just host in Poland or similar countries. It may introduce latency for users in North America, but does anyone believe Polish or the Ukrainians that work in Poland are going to cave to a bunch of leftie intimidation?

It doesn’t matter where you host. If all or most of the globes tier 1 internet carriers decide to black hole you and not provide transit to the data center you occupy. Which is essentially what is happening here. Internet infrastructure services over fiber optic need to be enshrined as an actual right if you ever want a world that ensures tech companies can’t silence people… doesn’t matter if you build your own tech or website if the backbones of the internet still conspire against you.
