I have Marriot rewards, but I'm SPG Platinum, so that's generally where I hang my hat. They aren't so bad.
I am a Diamond member with Hilton, however I have recently started giving SPG more of my business. SPG reward points will soon become Marriott in either 2017 or 2018.

What'd you email them for?
Just to let them know that I had not received my order and that I was disappointed because I hoping to bring them this week on my business trip.
Amazon did the rest.

I don't order nearly as much, but I have Prime and use the streaming service a lot for my kids.

My apologies, they are turning a slight profit this year after losing $241 million last year. However, that timing also coincides with increased use of the USPS which effectively means the company is being supported by the taxpayers.
I didn't even know they were turning a slight profit. You were wrong because you said their generous customer service is part of why they don't turn a profit, when in fact electronics and general merchandise (EGM) is their most and perhaps only profitable segment. That money is dumped into web services which apparently has finally started to pay off a little.

Tell me again how paying them a $99 membership fee each year equates to being "free"...
To this point, my Amazon Prime membership fees has been money well spent. And I was a member for over a year before I started streaming content.

I totalled all of the shipping costs I paid the last two years and I averaged ~190.00 a year so the membership fee is a net positive in my case. Had an issue with an item I ordered 6 months ago and they immediately made it right. They will continue to get my business.

183 orders in 2013.
93 orders in 2012.
How do you find these numbers? I'd like to find mine.

Sign in an hold your cursor over "your account". In the drop down pick "your orders".
eta: when that page comes up, change the date filter from 6 months to the year you want to see.

USPS isn't taxpayer funded. Nice try tho.

I got a 30% discount on a 400$ item just because of one little cosmetic defect. That paid for the membership right there.
Not to mention the value of taxes, travel, and my time I save.
Huge net gain for me

Where does it show you your number of orders?

You can actually get an entire order history report to count your orders and total your money spent:
Go to Order History Reports in Your Account.
Select the report type from drop-down menu, then fill in the start date, end date, and report name.
Click Request Report.
When the report is complete, you'll receive an e-mail notification. To retrieve the report, visit Order History Reports and click Download.

Thanks.
64 purchases in 2013. $2,577.14
203 in 2014. $6,127.00
398 in 2015. $13,849.66
That prime membership is worth every cent.

Never knew this. This is going to be disturbing.
Edit. It was disturbing.
$36,326.19
The only good news? I did return a few items.

An unsustainable model. Can't wait to write my book on the fall of Amazon

You're telling me a government entity that has lost money 8 years in a row ($5.5 billion last year) isn't taxpayer funded? It's odd how USPS can charge Amazon a quarter of what FedEx and UPS charge.

Back to Amazon, with Prime I get free next day and sometimes even same day in my market (DC). That should be expanded beyond the 7 or 8 markets that currently have it soon.
Of course I report my "use tax"
