I've been finding that they're no longer cheaper than brick & mortar stores at least 50% of the time I've bought something over the past year & a half.
This past Christmas was a nightmare with many of my guaranteed 2 day delivery packages showing up 5-7 days late. I spoke with Amazon chat about this and they're no longer as eager to give you that free month of Prime for late delivery and just cited holiday delays as the reason. Of course this was told in broken English b/c they're definitely outsourcing now.
Oh and their packaging sucks. I received electronics just thrown in a box about 4 sizes too big with one plastic air pillow in there.
The lightning deals this year were 75% Chinese garbage from 3rd party sellers and complete crap no one wants to buy anyway. Plus the "deals" were pretty shady. I'd seen stuff selling for $20 the day before, 12 hrs later it's selling for full mrsp of like $29.95 and then goes on lightning deal of $24.95.
Used to always check reviews on there too, but it's hard to trust those anymore. Every other review says something like "received product free for a review"
I used to be on the Amazon bandwagon, I've been a member since 2002, but I can tell things are changing for the worse. With most brick & mortars price matching or even undercutting them, I don't shop Amazon nearly as much anymore.
