They forgot about space for the tricycle-segway and probably haven't painted a reserved parking spot on the arrivals and departures levels for them to sit in their car with their lights on for their 8 hour shift.

Gotta sit somewhere to calculate all that OT pay.

Not saying I want it to be a failure nor do I think everything this guy’s saying is true, it’s just that you’re ok with it opening as a complete cluster frick and not “a little bumpy” because that’s what it’s sounding like more and more

I got that vibe too. Especially the security concerns and the overcooking balcony part

But I think the other internal airport stuff will be fine. There will be early glitches but eventually everyone will just forget about it and it will be just an airport that sucks to get to for a few years.

Honesty I’ve never had any concerns about once I’m in the airport. It’s all been about actually getting into it

Why would a bus go to Williams? Wouldn't the Airport Access Road be much quicker? (Yes, it would)

Because McKay is trying to create shock value and/or doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

"How are they going to operate this airport without asking MEEE first??!!!!!111"

Ding ding ding!

Some are legit concerns that have been made for months (if not years) by many. A couple of those reek of someone who just isn't familiar with infrastructure. Kind of scary for a cop who says they regularly spend time at an airport.

The issue with the terrace above TSA? Of course there are no LEOs there right now, the damn terminal isn't open!

They are clearly hurt that their break room is going to be much smaller, and they will have to *GASP* put detainees in a patrol car.

I usually don't get hung up on poorly written work or bad grammar, but this list was tough to read too.

How long does it take to tell an employee where their new office will be? How long does an orientation take? Why hasn't JPSO furnished their "police office"?

I feel like there are going to be a lot of clusters at first... and after a few weeks it will work itself out.

What a weird whiny post by a deputy.

Security measures that should have been known before ground even broke had no answers in March of this year.

This guy wrote an article yesterday or Tuesday about the traffic problems at the new airport. He said "traffic could possibly be backed up to the Veterans exit". I don't know what's stupider - him writing that or people sitting in gridlock on I-10 without bailing out at Vets, Power, or Williams.

The guy obviously has an axe to grind about the new terminal, but he's taking it too far. He can't be from NO Metro area or he would know better.

If the new one had been designed and implemented in a competent fashion, i'd be all about it. But its been a huge waste of money for a product that doesn't seem like it will result in a smoother / easier flight experience.

It will be nicer with better restaurants and stuff I guess, which is good because I anticipate having to spend more time at the airport for any given flight

Probably not. The security issues are still a problem (and a big one at that) at the old airport. When the airlines went for the tour (in March i believe) the question was asked (and its a question that SHOULD BE ANSWERED) the person in charge of the tour (and apparently had all the answers said she didn't know and walked to the next thing.

With how much has been spent on this thing, i don't think its unreasonable to have a good security situation, in airport lockup, etc.

All the restaurant options are great, but people don't come to NO to eat at the airport.

Have you tried to leave the airport on a busy Sunday or when festivals are letting out? Traffic is horrible. The new airport probably won't be any better.

My thoughts exactly - and I feel like the NO Airport isn't really used as a stop with lots of people sitting there on layovers very often.
