My whole family got it this week. It sucks

I hear ya. My whole family had it 2 weeks ago.

Our symptoms were:

headache
cough
loss of taste/smell for like 2 days
body aches
fever
sinus issues

It was very similar to the flu - with exception of the short loss of taste and smell.

I don't know why but when I saw this thread I could picture some idiot talking to someone saying "And they probably about to start shutting things down again. I saw on that LSU website that Covid is coming back".

Who are these people that are still getting tested?

Not sure why anyone would get an official test when you can literally get free at-home tests

Would prefer to continue to ignore it like we've seemingly done since the holiday surge in Dec/Jan. My kid has the chance to attend school for the FIRST time this upcoming year with zero restrictions.

It's a seasonal regional pattern now. Houston has more cases going on now just like last summer at the exact same time. It was over by August 15.

I know a lot of people who've had it the last 4-6 weeks, including me, my wife and son all getting it for the first time. Everyone only had cold symptoms, but then again we are all vaccinated and boosted. I don't know enough unvaccinated to tell you how they've fared, though if young and healthy I'd expect they have avoided the hospital.

Several people in my office have tested positive last week and this week. They all went to a wedding end of June.

Any adult man who wears a mask because he's scared of COVID will eagerly take you up on that offer....

How are they feeling?

Wife and I are on the mend, but I can’t taste anything but a weird metallic flavor. Yesterday sucked - had the chills and fever. Still feel tired. May try to jump in the pool later if I feel better.

My dad had it much worse but he’s improving. My mother seems to have avoided the worst of it so far. My 2 year old daughter had no symptoms.

It hits hard for a day or two, then you start to feel better. Much worse for the older folks.
