Police issued a press release about the photo on Monday, confirming that horse-mounted officers had "clipped" a "line" to a man's handcuffs after he was arrested Saturday on a criminal trespassing charge. Galveston Police Chief Vernon Hale also issued a statement Monday in the press release. He apologized to the man, Donald Neely, 43, who had been arrested on a misdemeanor criminal trespassing charge.

This is obviously racist. Somehow. Maybe because he didn’t get to ride on the horse?

"First and foremost I must apologize to Mister Neely for this unnecessary embarrassment," he said in the statement. So now we are apologizing to criminals for embarrassing them when we arrest them? OK, got it.

Apologize?? Piss on that sob! Parade his thieving trespassing arse around town like that EVERY day at high noon...maybe that will deter them from breaking the law.

Seems odd the officer wouldn't walk with him besides the horse, or just wait for a car to show up. But if they do this for everyone, I have no issue with it and an apology is unnecessary.

It should never be done to anyone in the 21st century. White black red green blue yellow purple whatever.
