I agree 90% of the time, but there are certain beers that get marked up way more than others at bars. I ain't paying $9 for a ghost in the machine

20 cocktails that were, no shite, a minimum of 8-10 ingredients. There were 2 people ahead of me and it took me 10 minutes to get a whiskey rocks.

I can't stand this crap. All I say to a bartender (if not getting a beer) is vodka water OR bulleit water.

I’ve gone the opposite way as I’ve gotten older. I hardly drink any liquor anymore, strictly beer. If I’m at a bar and trying to get a buzz fast I’ll just order an andygator or another one of those 8% abv beers rather than a watered down whiskey

dude. you need to get out more.

(The cocktails on tap are pretty shitty. The wine on tap runs the gamut, some very good some not so good. But wine on tap is pretty much everywhere now. It would be tough to NOT see it.)

True. But I think subconsciously people feel like they’re getting bent over if they’re paying $6 for a beer. I realize there’s a ton of markup on everything. But $6 for “just a beer” and a lot of people switch to a mixed drink.

If you can't be happy with good German beer, then you're just a miserable person.

Not anymore. Last year, for the first time, Americans reaching for a drink more often chose a glass of wine or a cocktail.

bullshite

There arent the most breweries in the history of the nation now for no reason.

I agree. I just wonder if the supply being greater makes it less special so that the high price tag may be a bigger deal. There always seems to be a cheap beer option on them menu at most places and I find myself ordering that more often these days rather than a craft pilsner for $6-8.

I'm with you, man. I prefer bourbon and 7up, but yeah. Only 4 categories for me. Bourbon and 7up, shots, beer, and fru-fru bullshite.

Honestly I think it has more to do with people that stop drinking shitty beer like Bud/Bud Light/Coors, etc.

So shitty that it’s the #1 selling alcoholic beverage in the world, hipster. And I don’t even like Bud Light

NYC sucked. I ordered Miller Lite everywhere, and only a few places had it. So then I would go to jack and coke, and some of them didn’t even have jack.

What kind of fricking drinking establishment doesn’t have jack?

That makes it not shitty?

The two highest grossing films of all time are Avatar and Titanic.

McDonald's has the most restaurants in the world.

You can't rely on sales or popularity to judge quality...which is ultimately a subjective opinion (although, on could argue, you could bring in objective factors into the argument).

Technically I was wrong, it’s not #1 but it’s up there

And yes, top sellers tend to mean that they’re good in their category

I've tried it. It's as horrible as you'd expect.

As long as there is a brewery in my basement, beer is going to be my swill of choice.

If that doesn't tell you how shitty it is then I don't know what to say.
