Putnam and Earhart made their relationship official shortly after his divorce was finalized, but they didn't marry until 1931. Earhart's ideas on marriage were liberal for the time as she believed in equal responsibilities for both "breadwinners" and pointedly kept her own name rather than being referred to as Mrs. Putnam. GP, as she called him, also learned quite soon that he would be called "Mr. Earhart".

10000% her in that photo. Reason #174 Hiroshima/Nagasaki was justified

Bahahah jesus.

This is your definitive proof? A blurry distant photo where you can't even tell if it's a man or a woman? Where the person isn't even facing the camera? Really?

I've examined closely. It's definitely her. No doubt. Or it's not. It's definitely one of those two.

You looked at the back of someone's head and agree it's her?

There's are literally no reasons that these wheels should be here. Except for the fact that there was a war.

Someone sucks at picking up sarcasm.

And it's definitely not you TigerNic. No way. You're great at catching sarcasm. The best.

Some of the evidence cited Marshall Island lore that Amelia Earhart landed her plane there. The son of a witness described the location where his father told him he watched the plane land.

The islands issued these commemorative stamps to honor their place in history:

That ship on the bottom right is the Japanese vessel Koshu Maru.

Another image of that vessel is here:

Is it the same vessel seen in this photo?

This was pre WWII.
US government allegedly knew she was taken by Japanese due to code breaking.
Confronting the Japs with this evidence would have revealed the US had broken Jap code.

It was better to stay silent and hope for the best.

If we broke the code before WWII how did we miss the whole Pearl Harbor deal

So their "evidence" that "debunks" this theory of Earhart being captured and killed by the Japanese is that the Japanese said they didn't do it.

Oh... Okay.... well as long as they insist that is wasn't them. Everybody knows the Japanese would never lie

Well, that and the notion that a plane that was low on fuel near howland island would have had to turn around and fly 800 Nautical Miles in the other direction to get to the Marshall Islands... on what? Pixie Dust?

You should watch the program. This is very well explained.
