Amelia Earhart on History channel

Pretty compelling stuff. They're putting together a strong case that she survived and was held captive by Japan and the US knew about it.
Anyone else watching?

10000% her in that photo. Reason #174 Hiroshima/Nagasaki was justified

Very compelling evidence with credible people involved.
For those not watching:
(Spoiler alert)
This was pre WWII.
US government allegedly knew she was taken by Japanese due to code breaking.
Confronting the Japs with this evidence would have revealed the US had broken Jap code.
It was better to stay silent and hope for the best.

I had also found compelling the idea that the U.S. did not want the information going public because they wanted to build relations with Japan as a modern post-war ally. Amelia Earhart was one of America's sweethearts, and the worry was that public sentiment to building a positive relationship with Japan would be thwarted had the public found out they captured and tortured her to death.

Kid safe? It's a show about Amelia Earhart on the history channel, not showtime.
Spoiler alert: she's dead.

Theyre not putting anything close to a "strong" case together. This isn't much different than ancient aliens or that island treasure show.

If she would have made it back, the US government would have asked her if she had any insight on friend or foe Countries, so in around about way it was a spy mission.
