I totally believe the japs got her.
I also believe she and Fred would have been better off dying in the plane crash. There is no telling what those fricking bastards did to them. WWII Japs were some nasty bitches.

Also, the could break the code but the then they had code words withing the code that represented different identities. i watch a documentary on Midway where the code breakers were able to key that Midway was the target. Midway was called out as "AF". just because you break a code doesn't mean you know what all the word correspond to.
