I think workforce is going to be an issue there

I should say a hard working workforce that shows up every day.

Well, maybe that's why they realized they needed 10 more feet for better robots...

He's torn between economic development in North Baton Rouge and supporting a business that's controlled by a white guy.

But how many no show jobs for JBE and Broome are we talking? Respect must be shown.

Might be something I’ll look into when they start the hiring process. I’ll be at my current job 15 years and might be time for a job change around this time.

Will I need 1 or more guns in my car for protection

Cleve Dunn tried to strong arm Amazon into promising X amount of jobs to minorities. He almost derailed the deal.

I wonder how bad traffic will be on Airline and in that area

18 wheeler/tractor-trailer traffic between Florida Blvd and I-12 is going to be horrible.

Maybe the city/parish government can commission another study to increase capacity along that stretch..so it can be finished by 2030.

Background check issues for many, upon many people who would be looking for fulfillment center jobs in that area.

For the most part those people won’t be applying but Amazon does hire some people with felony convictions. Not drug, theft, violent or sex crimes. But people might be surprised at the people that can pass a lot of things. We have all required to have TWIC and able to pass DISA drug and background screening. The majority of ones applying that can’t pass the previous listed? Young white males.

This facility will have a large portion of female staff which is good because it starts at $15 hour for day shift, more for overnight, benefits and bonuses. These jobs are on par with skilled labor in the industrial sector.

Amazon won’t have a problem hiring a workforce and knowing the people of this area-the workers of this area-it will be a good one.

All areas have thugs and deadbeats. It won’t be those but there are plenty of people in this metropolitan area that just want to work and with an opportunity like Amazon is giving they will perform-knowing they can actually advance should they want.

This is a good thing that many other cities would love to have and Baton Rouge and the naysayers should embrace it instead of just complaining.

I think there's already a local matching funding stream available to widening Airline Highway from that Green Light/Move BR agenda that the voters passed.

It's mostly just the OT.

Rational people know that this is an incredible development for the Baton Rouge area and the state.

Why would they get their hopes up? Economic development isn't a priority for JBE's administration. They don't really recruit corporate relocations aggressively at all.

Jindal + Moret (probably mostly Moret) was a much better team for the state's economic development.

Fool.

This place will likely hire a lot of minorities either way.

Do y'all get same day delivery now in BR? I wonder if this will improve that or, if not, introduce it. I wish we had it at our house but we're just a bit too far outside the ATL metro.

I've ordered items in the evening and received them next day, but no same day deliveries yet.

The plans were also modified to include a larger employee parking area, higher ceilings, multiple levels, and more truck docks.

They better surround it with a 15' fence topped with concertina razor wire, guard towers with search lights.

The lennar 3/2’s of the world only have a finite amount of tupperware space in the garage for consumer grade crap. Remember that.

I believed upgrades to Airline both towards 110 and 12 are in the works as well to coincide with this.

Another reason not to buy from Amazon. That, and their collusion with Google and Apple to try to kill Parler.
