look at is as a yearly fee for free shipping without a purchase minimum and a mediocre streaming service.

As do I. I have 223 orders YTD. That’s less than $.54 shipping per order.

While frustrating, this seems to be very easily avoided with even a cursory glance at the reviews. Typically it will be a ton of reviews mentioning products that have nothing to do with what you’re purchasing.

It's not always as easy as you think. We have an infringement team, and Amazon and now Walmart keep them busy. Positive reviews just mean they have a lot of reviews.

Yeah it’s obviously anecdotal, but I’m talking about the review content itself, not just the star rating. I’ve seen phone cases that have reviews talking about all kinds of different products. Pretty clear it’s a scam.

WalMart has contracted with DoorDash to instantly deliver items. I ordered a vacuum cleaner and it was here in like 90 minutes.
the issue with this is walmart/doordash isnt clear on some of the orders how its coming. I work doordash on the side about 3 nights a week and alot of these orders people are shocked when i pull up with their item/items.

On top of all that, it seems like their product catalog is getting REALLY watered down with Chinese knockoffs and bullshite replicas

One of the guys in direct war against Trump is in bed with China? Who would have thought that.

Pretty much every major retailer will charge you sales tax

Not sure why when they are only required to if they have nexus. In LA sales tax is a nightmare.

I have been pleasantly surprised with all of my Christmas orders so far. They have been 1,000 times better/faster than during the "shutdown". Everything has actually come in the Prime delivery window. One order had free shipping but wasn't Prime, and it even got to me in 3 days.

I expected it to be a shitshow. So far, so good.

Amazon is an evil company.
Just buy shite from local businesses and Walmart if forced.

I wish they would segregate their shitty streaming service. No chance I’d pay for that crap if not forced to.

Yes. It's not the value that it once was.

When I first got it, the price of gasoline was a whole lot higher and we live 23 miles from the closer side of Knoxville. Just driving to and from Kpatch was two gallons of gas versus free shipping.

Now, gas is cheaper and traffic is worse. And I'm older, damn it, and Covid check lists have me high risk and I'm really not getting younger. Staying out of stores is an easy decision and Amazon deliveries are dependable coming mostly out of Lexington KY.

For us, it is worth it today. I expect I have much younger neighbors who go to Kpatch daily and pass many of the stores that might have the things in stock that I need. So the answer would be different for them. Maybe.

Yep. The first time that happened, we were surprised. Was expecting a UPS delivery a few days later....but DoorDash shows up with my item after a couple of hours.

For me it is. Free shipping is more common than it used to be, but not as common as you'd think. Especially if you're not reaching a minimum.

I order 1-2 random items from Amazon every other day probably, which would be a lot in shipping if I ordered them elsewhere.

The 2-day shipping was never the thing for me. It was just the free shipping I cared about.

Same for me. I had to order something from Wally World yesterday. I wasn't going to reach the minimum for free shipping, so I ordered something else to get there that I can use, but wouldn't have ordered at this time.

I mean, I'm not "shopping" on it every 2-3 days I buy things as I need them rather than having to trek to a store when I have time and/or putting off buying the item.

New dish scrubbing brush when mine broke, replacement filters for my vacuum cleaner, etc. I can click and order one right there on the spot.

Sure, I probably spend more money than if it didn't exist because I'm not just living with broken shite out of convenience, but I'd much rather the current status quo than to live with broken shite.

Personally, I like the free shipping aspect and knowing I can return just about anything and get my money back easily. Also, I would contact Amazon - 3/4 day shipping seems off. I ordered something on Tuesday night and it was at my door Wednesday early afternoon

It's been like that for awhile. It doesn't make sense.. but I did turn down the faster shipping..

I’ve seen this recently for the first time. Looking into buying a very nice kitchen knife that runs for about $140. Start seeing all these on Amazon for $80-$90 and sure enough, upon investigation, many of these are knock offs. The MAC (brand of knife) website specifically warns of these and says only certain vendors are allowed to sell their actual knives and those are the ones I’m seeing for $140.

Amazon prime 1 day and 2 day shipping is gone forever. I don't think they will ever bring it back. They do have some good brands on there, our biggest savings is the 15% S&S for the kids snacks. We get the snacks for a month, Amazon's price is already low then they take 15% off because you are going to order over and over.... we also will catch laundry detergent, deodorant, bodywash, etc cheap. For big purchases I no longer use Amazon. Everyone knows they use to not tax at all, then they only taxed sold by Amazon, now they collect tax for every seller. I can find just as good of prices, with fast shipping with no tax. frick the tax man.
