used to have many legit good deals on Prime day. Its seems now they raise the price on most of the Items before Prime day and lower it back to where it was a week earlier then show you they toke 20% off. There are a few good deals but that's usually the crap they cant get rid of. Do better amazon.

I have never waited to or intentionally bought something on Prime day.

It used to be good. Seems the past 8 years have been lame. This board was ate up with the deals in the past. Now it’s just regularly priced Amazon branded stuff that you can buy in Feb for the same price.

At this point you just have to have stuff in your list to see if it goes down on Prime Day. I saw 2 items I've had for a long time about 10% off from the normal price.
Or you can look at the sites that list the best deals. Like I saw a legit deal on an outdoor Ring camera, but I just don't need one.
Streaming channels and gift cards always go on sale. I just got a digital and physical Fandango at Home card for 10% off each. Thread on channels
camelcamelcamel.com is definitely necessary for random stuff on Prime Day

Prime is for free shipping and convenience of not having to go to brick and mortar. It is not for deals anymore. Black Friday is about the only time real deals are to be had for online shopping.

Go to CamelCamelCamel and look at the prices before you buy - they track Amazon's prices year round and will show you if they spiked the price a few weeks ago just to claim its on sale now.

I use Amazon for convenience and not to shop deals. If I run out of something or I am getting low I order on Amazon vs going to the store.

They had a good deal on a Moccamaster last year. Other than one or two big items every year, it's the usual drum of lube and Chinese crap

I need a 100in tv before football season. One of you deal finders steer me correctly

The real ones know Prime Days and the Black Friday weekend are the best times to delay shipping. Amazon hands out promotional digital credits like candy on those heavily trafficked days.
The way I treat these days is that I usually have things on my list and I check to see if they went down. The ones that never go down. Who don't get a discount these days. I usually order, typically movies. I have $1,400 or so in gift cards and points on Amazon. So I don't even have to pay any money for these things and can get $10 to $20 in digital credit just for delayed shipping on stuff that I was going to buy anyway.

Then, if you do order something, they’ll deliver it whenever and wherever they feel like.

I was about to push an order through last night and decided to wait and see if the price would change this morning. Cut the amount in half so I will chalk up Prime Day as a success for me.

Seems like it used to be more big ticket items like laptops, TVs, etc, and now it’s more like toothpaste and body wash

Bad news. The barrel is out of stock currently

You can still fulfill your need for Chinese crap and get a life-size cardboard cutout of your favorite politician

Some protein shakes I like are 40% off so I snagged a couple of cases. That'll probably be all I spend today unless I spot some dog stuff for our new pup
