I use an extension for Chrome called Keepa that tracks and shows a price chart overtime products on Amazon.
It designed specifically for this problem and has saved me a good bit of money by keeping me from falling for these “ Amazon Day” scams
You can also set it to alert you when the price drops by a certain percentage that you get to set

Actually did find a good deal on dog food that we buy for our small dogs. Usually $43.00 a bag even at walmart . Can be found here much cheaper. So not all bad on primeday.

Seems like $279 for Apple Watch 11 is a whopping $20 off from what I normally see it at $299.

There are a few things I buy regularly that are cheaper than normal, but only minimally

I don't even check it anymore

My Prime Day is mostly vacuum cleaners and bluetooth speakers, even though those are 2 of the last things I'd ever get excited about buying.

I dumped Prime years ago, when they started charging for returns. Until then it was a great way to shop.

Amazon has been trippin since 2018!

There is a reason CamelCamelCamel was released. In 2008.
So yes, Amazon and it's third party sellers take you for fools. OMG! It's 30% off! What a deal!

there's deals to be had on supplements like protein powder, shakes, vitamins etc but other than that it's not that great. i got a jackery power station on sale in the fall for 325 and it's on "sale" today for 400.

They do because they know people are fools.

Yeah, the same. I’m sitting at home and realized I need pink electrical tape; it’s worth the two dollars to not drive to Home Depot.

The fix is in if they advertise it.

I know this is a common criticism and not entirely without basis, but I think it's pretty overstated.
I can go on right now and see a bunch of stuff I look at a lot all at 20% or so off, maybe more, and I can price check it and see that this thing hasn't been at this price for 6 months, that thing for 4 months, whatever.
If you're looking for the all time or one year low, yeah, disappointing. But if you're waiting to grab a handful of things - often they'll all be at multi-month lows and very often competitive with longer term lows.
Just click the price history link and look

You can do this within the Amazon app now, too. I got an alert yesterday that the Community Breakfast Blend I normally order was below $25 for 2 32oz bags. You can also check the price history of a product up to 90 days back, which is helpful.
