I’m sure they could reach into Lafayette from Baton Rouge and vise versa.

Amazon.com has applied for a permit to build a 21,306-square-foot distribution center for small packages just off Airline Highway and Interstate 12, near Costco.

Per the article, not a huge center like some of the other recent ones, some being close to a million square feet.

Amazon.com applies for "small" package distribution, sorting facility in Baton Rouge.

The permit is only for 21k sq ft! It's the size of a small warehouse nothing more than that.

Not necessarily. We've got like 3 or 4 Amazon distribution centers here in DFW and rarely do I get stuff in one day(not including Prime Now), unless I pay for 1 day delivery.

Don't get excited. I'm sure Prime deliveries in the region will go from 2 days to 5.

It's only 21k sq ft. I wonder if it will be geared more to grocery delivery or something. The article says "small packages", hopefully this means same day delivery for some stuff. My brother lives in Austin, ordered some batteries and they were delivered like 20min later.
