Came up in a conversation with friends. 1st year paper, 2nd year cotton, etc. I have never heard of this in my life. What are you suppose to buy that is paper or cotton? Cotton I guess you get clothes but I don’t buy my wife clothes because if I do it just ends being returned

I knew. I just never cared about such things. Seems rather ridiculous.

Yep, I think you are the only one

There are modern vs traditional gifts as well which are generally more expensive.

I doubt you are the only one... but obviously among the group.

1st - paper - happy 'versary card
2nd - cotton - how about a nice handwritten letter on linen stationary
3rd - Leather - use your imagination

etc... Don't be a dope and treat your queen accordingly.

Super easy. My first two:
1st - personalized stationery
2nd - 1000 thread cotton sheets
