Kyle Busch kind of did the same thing. His death was totally preventable.

Am I an a-hole for not caring when other friends are visibly upset. It's getting hard to pretend I care when they tell me He moved his arm today or He tried to talk today.

I’ll say conditionally, you are not the a-hole.

There’s a difference between not caring about the guy and not caring about your friends being upset about something.

Whether you care or not, just be polite. If someone is talking about his recovery, just nod and say “That’s good news. Hope he improves more.” then just move on either with your day.

What a great comment. Wish I could give it more up votes.

“I’m sorry your friend is sick. I’m sure you are doing all you can. Hang in there.”

You don’t have to “care” directly about the guy you don’t know, but you can “care” that your friends feel bad.

I don’t think you’re an a-hole, you’re being honest about how you feel. I don’t understand feeling that way, though. A lot of deaths could be prevented by proper nutrition, being compliant with medical treatment, getting rest, attentive driving…I just don’t understand lacking compassion when it happens.

Yes. Not caring about your friends being upset is narcissistic and assholish.

But. Doesn't change that the dude did that to himself.

But. That doesn't relieve you of the ability to feel sympathy for everyone, especially those you claim are friends.

So what's up with you?

I do not like going to the dentist. It’s rarely a positive experience, lol. This is why I go every 6 months faithfully. I don’t want to spend time there unless I have to.

A long time ago, when I was in respiratory therapy school it came time to do my intubation clinicals. The best place to learn that is in an OR, on a sedated patient.

This guy was in to have growth removed from inside one of his nostrils. It was massive! He was black, and already had a naturally broad nose, but this growth had on nostril extremely large and completley blocked. It was obvious that this had been growing for a while. The surgeon removed it, and it was sent to the lab.Turned out to be metastatic cancer and already spread to vital organs, including his brain.

Again, this was a long time ago and I still think about that. He let that grow to a grotesque size before seeking medical treatment. I wonder how much longer he would've lived if he would just have gotten that looked into before letting it go to the point where a second head started growning out of his nose.

To be fair, who hasn’t made this mistake before?

Jk…You’re not the a-hole. Guy sounds like a dumbass. Hope he learns something if he’s lucky enough to make a full recovery.

How much are you supposed to care about a guy you don't know?

Of course you hope he makes a full recovery and of course you agree that the situation is sad and tragic. Does that mean you really care?

Do they want you to cry or something?

You don’t have to pretend to care; just don’t go out of your way to say shite in front of your friends that do care. You’re a dick for talking shite about it to people who do care; just be quiet. They all know it’s his own fault. Sounds like want people to think you’re an a-hole

He must be one tough mofo. I had an abscessed tooth a couple years back. Probably the most intense pain I've ever experienced. I would have walked over hot coals to get to a dentist.

If so, frick that whole “noble poor sacrificing for his family”. He was a dirty lazy slob who, in the 21st century, did brush and floss his teeth. frick him.
