Is the economy bad? Seems the coffee shops, restaurants are full, school busses are mostly empty, but car lanes at schools are full of late model suburbans and Tahoes.

Such a well traveled rich man has shockingly never been to Dallas

People here in Little Rock are buying 600k-850k homes like they are nothing. Driving brand new 50k cars and eating out every night.

We own our home and live within our means.

What am I missing?

It's everywhere. Take quick drive north to Cabot and it's the same thing. It's just mixed with more rednecks. More in the half million dollar range but they have the brand new SUV etc.

I don't get it. I'm sure many are doing well and can afford it but others are seeing if the finance fits in their monthly budget, savings, giving, and retirement be damn.

Is like to get in on that.

2 things:
1 - a lot of people are getting significant money from their elderly parents who saved it
2 - a lot of people are up to their eyeballs in debt

What’s your household income? That would help answer your question much better than telling us about your neighbors spending habits.

We haven’t had a real recession in a very long time. When that happens, oh boy.

Only thing you miss is that this country is way too comfortable with debt and think they can afford things they can’t. The loans disguise the true costs.

It’s not how much money you have, it’s how much money you keep that counts.

I grew up poor as a church mouse....but.....also grew up in a loving home with a loving family. So, yes we were $$$ poor but we were family rich.
