Retiring? On a three day notice? Better get a forensic audit done before she moves out of the country.

Why are you doubting yourself? 3 days notice is bullshite- unless you’ve had a history of being a genuine A-Hole boss. LOL!!

People expound a lot of energy being jerks.

I always assume they have a poor or non-existent sex life, deep family issues, or have sub-par careers.

Sounds like she's an a-hole and you're a petty a-hole.

Even if she was a long term employee, doesn't excuse her shittiness of only giving a 3 day notice.

I gave a 2 week notice the first time I quit my last company. Got laid off and went back to work for them. Last year I gave no notice and they would hire me tomorrow if I needed a job. The only way I'll ever give a notice is if my employer takes care of me. If they don't value me, they get no notice. A notice is overrated now a days.

She mentally clocked out 2 years ago.

Why would you wait until rush hour on a Friday to go get all that ? Should have paid her to not come in at all and gotten that stuff on Thursday.

Maybe not an a-hole but you are an idiot.

I think I might know why she gave short notice.

Out of selfishness, I would have given her the day off and collected keys yesterday, just so I didn’t have to go to the office. Schedule a farewell lunch at which I simply make an appearance and let that suffice for her “day.”

Quitting to go to another job....no, make her work all day

Retiring for the rest of her life? 3 days notice? Yeah you’re an a-hole because it’s probably health related

Exactly, people don’t retire on that kind of notice unless their doctor just gave them some bad news or something else serious is happening

"Giving notice is over rated". Exactly. How many employers give notice when an employee is fired? Loyalty is a two way street but employers today could care less about their obligation to be fair. A lesson I have drilled into both my sons as they navigate the work place in today's business world.

Yes, you are that boss and probably why she’s bitter and only gave you three days notice. Glad I don’t work for you.
