Lady that works for me is retiring today. It’s my day off and I have to be there to collect keys etc. So, I don’t go to the office until the work day is almost over just so I can Make her work the whole day. Now I know she hasn’t done anything today but still had to be there. Does this make me an a hole? Also she only gave me a three day notice

No
It’s her last day, she gave you a 3 day notice, and she should work the full day

I don’t know what you’re saying. Am I drunk?

If you paid her, she works.

Three day notice negates any bad move on your part

And then go post about it on a message board
Yes you are

Retiring from Lowe’s is called quitting

In most situations, being friendly means being ineffective.

What can't the next shift manager just get the key from her? It's kind of rude to make you go all of the way up to McDonalds on your day off just to get her key.

Yes if she is a long term employee who is retiring. If she is a short term employee who is retiring then No.
Posted on 8/30/19 at 3:44 pm to Lugnut
was going to say yes until you mentioned the 3 day notice.

Not so subtle "I'm a boss" brag.
Also, your post doesn't make sense so you're probably a terrible boss.

If you have to ask the question then you already know the answer. Would have been easier to have collected the keys yesterday and given her the day off.

We just make employees turn keys and do the required paperwork...nobody doing shite on their last day at work anyway.
