Redneck life hack - If you start running short on the soft drinks.......

Just add water.

Whiskey, wine, and water! Any soft drink is trashy for dinner, regardless of label.

Only necks and hood rats drink soft drinks, brand or generic.

I find all the soft drink hate on here hilarious.. sure, it’s not exactly healthy.. but how many trashy fights between relatives have been caused by having too much Sierra Mist, versus overdoing it on , i dont know- Jack Daniels, Crown Royal, Wild Turkey or even Coors Light?? Again, not saying that pouring carbonated water and sugar down your throat is the best idea- but i dont get the disconnect when discussing what’s “appropriate”- alcohol drinks that, if overconsumed will get you a DUI or a horrible accident.. if you drink too much Mr Pibb at Christmas dinner, the worst that’ll probably happen is you’ll belch more.

Bunch of Baptists caravanned to church camp. One family had a van stocked with Dr. Thunder and generic Cola. Another had name brand Coca Cola and such.

Most of the kids wanted to ride in the name brand drinks van. This led to a dispute among the driving chaperones, ending in a threat by the Dr. Thunder woman to another church lady to “whip your God damned arse all over this parking lot.”

True story.

My cheapo relatives brought the store brands. Who wants to see a 3 liter of Dr. Thunder on the table for Christmas dinner?

If you want to dictate what's on the table, pony up and by it yourself.

Honestly I just assume the OT is 100% sarcasm and a farce and not real life

There is no way someone would seriously have soda at Christmas let alone a two liter bottle let alone store brand. Then post about that on the internet.

No way

It’s the only way I can rationalize it

I don't get how people on here get so judgmental about how others live their lives. Not everyone has to get drunk to enjoy their turkey, cranberries and green bean casserole at the holidays. Some of us are also respectful of those recovering and maybe don't think it's cool to put alcohol in their face.
The holidays are an easy time to fall off the wagon. Maybee we are also considerate of our guests with mobility issues and who can't easily leave the table to refill their cups.

If you don't like their drink of choice then bring your own drinks. Problem solved.

It's funny to me how people are complaining about sodas and how unhealthy it is. But let's be honest, most of the items everyone ate for christmas was unhealthy.

Not to mention tOT has no problem throwing down a 6-pack. Like that is somehow more healthy than regular soda. Neither are good for you

All trashy. You don't serve soda or any of the above brands at Christmas.

That's solid rationalization. You're surrounded by immobile alcoholics.
