Am I a jerk for this... thanks lessons learned.

My wife and I have have a baby on the way and she got me a tickets to the ole miss LSU game. I had season tickets from the 90s till 2013. my last game was Alabama 2012 so I was looking forward to going to the game. I took my father-in-law and nephew and met a friend (ole miss fan) up there. My father who didn’t care about the game wanted to leave at halftime. I turned off my phone knowing he couldn’t walk back up the steps and basically hide from him till the game was over. Got home around 3am which worried my mother in-law so she was pissed. Am I a jerk for wanting to watch the game even if it was in hand and raining? My thought was I was already wet. My wife was mad until I explained my reasons. We got married last year and hasn’t been to a game with me.Thanks for your opinion. I do know I will never take them back.
