No you're not a jerk for this. Old dude has to know that a game lasts hours and plan for that.

Your mistake was bringing the wrong people.

What war? I did presidential and national security deployments for the most part and year at camp patriot. I’m not going to give you some bs that I never did.

What was the random baby on the way lead in for?

You have to fill in some blanks...

Where did you end up finding your father in law?

What did he say?

How was the ride home?

Why home so late?

OP hit up Freds for a few hours after the game, then circled back to find FIL.

The one where you told your pregnant wife that you left her handicapped dad down in the concourse. Went back to you seat to watch the game. And turned off your phone to make sure he couldn't contact you.

I took my father-in-law and nephew and met a friend (ole miss fan) up there. My father who didn’t care about the game wanted to leave at halftime.

Then he shouldn't have gone, much less start being a bitch about being there.

I turned off my phone knowing he couldn’t walk back up the steps and basically hide from him till the game was over. Got home around 3am which worried my mother in-law so she was pissed.

You shouldn't have turned off the phone nor should you have hidden from him. Both of those were childish.

If he wants to leave so badly you can let him know that you would be alright if he were to call someone to come pick him up (you could even have offered to call an Uber for him).

Why was the mother-in-law worried? Did your father-in-law not call her? That sounds like it's more his issue than yours.

The baby lead in was why she thought it would be a great idea for us all to go. He was outside under a tree. He was pissed and bitched about everything. After the south Alabama’s pa announcer is better than Lsu comment he fell asleep. We live on the coast about 2hrs 20min ride. He and my nephew (10) complained all day. My nephew was upset his cell phone died and needed a cube to charge his phone. I will say once my nephew sat with me and my buddy he had fun and wanted to stay.

Uber back to Mississippi? I did offer my keys but he didn’t know where the car was. Childish yes probably but by that point I was fed up. He’s a know it all and I constantly google everything he says. I can promise if the roles were reversed and we were on his boat somewhere, it will be dark before we come back. Hence I rarely go out if I want to be back at a specific time.

So if I understand correctly you went to the game and in the second "hid" from your FIL because you knew he wanted to go home?

If that is correct yes you are an arse. At least get the old dude a Uber home...
