Wow it's almost like people are incentivized to lie in order to get paid.

What’s sad about the cub/Boy Scouts is the amount of boys in the organization who don’t have dads that regularly (if at all) attend functions. My son was in for four years (I was sad when he quit). The only functions I didn’t make it to were the ones specifically labeled “mom and me”.

I only bring this up because, IMHO, boys looking for father figures are probably/likely more susceptible to these acts and the pederasts themselves.

Former Boy Scout here.

Now, they can't even be bothered to enforce the words in its name; the sooner it dies, the better.

Yes, and there are also a metric shite ton of people who file looking for an easy payday. There was a whole goddamn channel on DirecTV begging for people to make claims 24 hours a day.

I should have added more context.. I obviously would love to have a family just as much as the next baw. However, raising kids in a world basically ruled by censor crazy extreme left wing freak elite child pedophile sex cultists does not appeal to me. It also seems to be getting worse with time.. church, school, sports, etc. With predators hiding in plain sight it freaks me out how little faith and trust I have in humans. No matter how many good people are in this world for the better an equal (seemingly more with each passing day) amount of evil people exist that wish to do harm to the innocent with perverse unspeakable acts. Why bring new spiritual life into this world if it’s just going to be (potentially) destroyed in the worst possible way imaginable.

Heres an idea people. Why don't you take your own son out into the wilderness and teach him everything he would learn in boy scouts. That way you don't have to leave your son venerable to sexual predators alone in the woods.

I was in scouts but really never did much with it and quit after a few years. Nothing ever happened to me but after seeing the 50 million commercials/infomercials on the scandal I got to thinking. My scout master died years ago. It would be impossible to prove or disprove anything. How many of these cases are simply folks looking to score a quick $$$?

Imagine the number of claims if a law firm would advertise incessantly about being able to sue churches.
People would be scammers to no end. 99% of claims would be completely baseless, yet unprovable either way.

Mostly priest unfortunately. My dad told me a story once about some things that were sketchy. He never told anyone at the time.

My dad was right! When a young Yekindewit asked to join the Boy Scouts in my little town on the Mississippi River, dad said, “Hmmmmmmm, I don’t think so.” If was as if he knew there were phroots leading the boys into the woods. Thanks dad 52 years after my 13 year old self inquired about the BSA membership.
