Tow ratings are a wash. All of them could tow well over 35k. It’s stopping the weight that is an issue with towing.

Well, when the diesel engine makes a million horsepower and enough torque to pull the sun, the gas engine HAS to be that big and powerful in order for it to be a viable alternative.
Besides, it’s not like any of the current HD gas engines get better than 13 mpg overall. I doubt either Ford or GM’s all-new designs will get any worse than that.

I love the fact that some dude is going to haul 35,000 lbs yet still needs a trailer backup assistant.

A lot of farmers/ranchers in the real cold climates run gas over diesel. They don't want to deal with the problems diesel brings in - temps.

Gmc is the beauty of the bunch. No way I'd spend what sticker prices are now. My 02 silverado is fine.

My backup assistant is my mirrors. I don’t use the camera or turn and look out the rear window and 9 out of 10 Times I can back to any of my trailers, bumperpull or gooseneck and hookup in the first shot.
And I might be dragging something like this. We aren’t all operators-some of us work our trucks.

Fleet managers. Turns out that with the new emissions restrictions and maintenance costs, gas engines offer the needed durability and hauling capacity while being cheaper to run when compared to diesels in commercial service vehicle fleets.

I wouldn’t want a gas motor in any of these options.
The longevity of a Deisel and the fuel mileage/output ratio is what attracted me in the first place. If you’re going to pay that much for a vehicle why wouldn’t you choose the option that’s going to be good for more than 250k miles before you start having to baby the engine? Just doesn’t make sense to me. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to a gas burner.

How current are you including in “current”? My LB7 gets nearly double that.

I don't know of many Ford 6.0L or 6.4L diesels running that many miles without major overhauls or repairs.
The Cummins, Duramax, and the old 7.3L Powerstroke....250K is just barely breaking them in.

When in TF is this madness gonna stop? I have an '08 Chevy LTZ with a Duramax, and my Dad's friend has a '15 Chevy LTZ with a Duramax. I can't believe all of the bells and whistles that have been added from my '08 to the '15 model.
Do all of you people really need all of the insane options and luxurious features? The pricing has just gotten stupidly high on these trucks.

I imagine that rating is for the larges truck, the 1 ton dually. So, technically 6 wheeled vehicle.
