I hate to sound like “that guy”, but you do realize they still make the work truck trim level all the way up to the fully loaded trucks?
People are buying the loaded trucks to the extent that you have to order the truck if you want a diesel in anything but a work truck or loaded package, but they are still possible to get.
Everyone complains about the price of the trucks and then y’all about how they don’t need all the extra stuff. It is almost like people forget that the manufacturers offer more than just one trim level.

I think it’s fairly widely accepted by everyone that those 6.0’s were mistake years for Ford, and that backlog of problems started long before they hit 250k. They were just faulty motors and should be excluded from the conversation. No one wants them, they’re just not worth the headache.

The 3/4 ton trucks are now as tall as their medium duty trucks, which I think is a mistake. I'm over 6' tall, and I'd probably have some issues getting inside the new Silverado HD without running boards.

Might as well just put them all on tracks and let them pull trains. American trucks look more like locomotives every year.

I saw multiple Fiat trucks in Austria.
Central and South America are full of four door Toyota diesel trucks (Hilux).
I don’t think other countries think much about our trucks.

Yes, I think both it and GM’s new 6.6L will.
I’ve sold cars in MT for the last 4 years, which means LOTS of trucks, and I get the “muh fuel economy” comeback from customers so much when it comes to HD trucks that it’s the first thing I think of.
If anything, maybe the 7.3L will average 11 instead of 12-13, which is what every current HD gas truck gets.

They make a lot selling crossovers, SUVs, and trucks.
I once read that there is about $24,000 in profit in a single Escalade. Those things are everywhere.

If I was in the market for a 3/4-ton beater work truck then I'd look hard at them, they are like the MB S-class V12 cars in that nobody wants them because of the engine and are practically forced to give them away. Cummins 4BT swap candidate.

Everyone I know who had a 6.4L or 6.0L Ford diesel has had major issues. I am still not sure how Ford screwed up that badly.
The 6.7L has some issues, but nothing like the 6.4L or 6.0L Powerstroke engines.
