Did she leave his pants on? Puhlease. I got it from my Mom and Dad with pants down. Only underwear on. You’re witnessing the downfall of society when a single mom is recorded by her other kid and arrested for disciplining her child? Absolutely sickening. The kids pants were pulled up for goodness sake’s. Some of you who are screaming abuse are part of the problem, This is NOT abuse. This is PARENTING.

We all got our asses whipped growing up. But that lady was beating that kid nonstop, screaming and cussing in his face, picking him up by the hair, etc. And that's just within a 43 second snippet of that.
Very few in here were straight up abused like that growing up.

Ha! Just because you were handed candy and money for cleaning your room, doesn’t make me a liar. I got belt spankings by my Mom and Dad. They weren’t often, but I definitely deserved it. You’re SOFT. Mentally and Physically.

No you didn't. I was also beat like this. Sometimes worse. I didn't deserve it. I did things that kids do, but I never hurt anyone. I made mistakes. I would procrastinate on HW, I would talk back, I would occasionally frick something up in the house. But I didn't steal. I didn't hit others. I wasn't doing anything wrong.
I don't know what you did as a kid, but I'd imagine it didn't call for a straight up beating. What could call for this? Hitting another kid wouldn't call for this sort of "punishment". In fact, this punishment is likely to cause a kid to act out.
I'm sorry you feel this way. Your parents were wrong if they beat you like this. Really, I get it and I am sorry.
Watching this video made me so fricking mad. The pleading from the kid, the saying sorry, everything about it. That's a child in distress. It is traumatizing to be on that end of a beating from someone who is supposed to love you and protect you.

she looked like she was enjoying that. my parents used a belt on me but i doubt it was ever more than 3-4 times and not as hard as they could. that bitch is crazy

I got belt spankings too, among other things (paint stirrers were the worst ; yard sticks were the best...until they broke in half
). Most of us in here did. But most of us in here weren't beaten like the kid in the OP. And neither were you. I'm not soft; I'm just also not full of shite. And if you got beat like the kid in the OP on the reg, then your parents should've likely caught charges for child abuse. There's a difference between discipline and abuse, and the video in the OP is proof of the latter. That bitch was taking out her legit anger on that kid. And hey, I'm sure he was being a little a-hole and needed correction, but the actions in the OP ain't it. And it's likely gonna make that kid act out even more anyway.

I got my fair share of belts on my rear end and I earned them, but my dad never used that kind of language, and always explained before and after why I was getting it. Honestly, it was the threat that curbed my behavior after a while more than the whipping itself. I knew he meant business, so I didn’t mess with the bull or I got the horns. Disrespect was the common denominator that warranted a whipping when I was growing up. Don’t disrespect an adult, and certainly don’t disrespect him or my mom. That’s bad news.

My dad whipped my arse with a belt a few times. Didn't hit me 20 times in a row, didn't pick me up by my hair, and didn't cuss me out.

When I became old enough to comprehend I was about to get my arse whipped into submission, my dad sat me down and read me the "spare the rod" verse from the bible, and explained why parents have to sometimes spank their children. He told me he was doing it because he cared and that it would make the lesson "stick"
He never gave me more than 5 or 6 licks, but he made them count for damn sure, with a wooden paddle his high school principal had handed down to him upon graduation. When it was over, we went back to normal within a half hour.

Pro tip from receiving end experience: hot wheels orange track and thin metal coat hangers are way more painful than a belt, especially on bare legs

I've never really spanked my kids with a belt. Not that I'm totally against it. I just know I have a temper that I'd have to control as well. I can see myself getting really worked up over something bad. I can see in frustration bending them over the couch for a few licks if spanking was a go to. However, I can't see myself getting anywhere near 25 in without at some point thinking "WTF am I doing here" and walking away to calm down. That was without a doubt over the line. If you need that kind of discipline, you've failed somewhere else. Especially over doing chores.
