TSA Precheck is so easy to get and you can make fun of the poors and felons while passing them.

I’ll give them benefit of the doubt. Good chance they’ve been delayed, cancelled, stranded by the airline for hours with no help and they have given up. I’ve been there when traveling with kids on AA

I am in a minority here and this may be an unpopular opinion ,but I wish it would be more expensive to fly. Reducing the ghetto and trailerpark from airports would go a long way. Sure you have trash with money ,but they are farther and fewer.

What is really so odd is just how awful people present themselves these days. Is it that hard to take a bath and throw on something decent looking? To not stink at a minimum?

I pride myself on being the person you want sitting next to you on the plane. I will always be clean and small lol.

We are experiencing Idiocracy in real time.

you can wear a sweatshirt, joggers, and sneakers and be one of the most presentable people on any given flight if you:
-showered
-comb your hair
-shave/groom your beard
-your clothes & shoes are clean
-have halfway decent luggage

eta: also are in good shape. that's a big one.

The roads are strewn with trash from people who have given up. It doesn't make it right. Clean up your shite.

We fly 2x per month, and you are very correct.

Once again is it that difficult to throw a pair of jeans on and a decent shirt? Maybe splash some water on your face so you don’t look completely crusty?

Just watched a family feeding their kids and spilling crumbs and trash all over the floor at the gate. Oh well, time for them to board so they just leave all their trash sitting there. Not even 7am and this place looks like a dump due to filthy humans.

Also, if your feet wreak of musty corn, don’t slip off your shoes to stretch out and relax.

Then there’s the a-hole who’s running late and thinks it’s his world that everyone has to revolve around.

Rant over.

It is really difficult to imagine, even for those who experienced it, but once upon a time air travel was a luxurious experience and one you would look forward to almost as much as the destination you were traveling to. Airlines treated passengers like very special guests. You could park your car and take a leisurely stroll through the terminal, check your luggage and stop in the still most fascinating place in all of human experience the airport lounge. You could enjoy an overpriced but well made cocktail with fellow travelers and then make it to your gate where they acted like they were glad to see you. The plane itself was actually comfortable and they fed you, if not well at least actually, and if you wanted a drink or several they were right there with them. It was truly enjoyable. Cows heading to the abattoir's office in 2023 are treated better than first class airline passengers. I refuse to participate any longer. If it is more than a 8 hour drive and flying is the only practical option I weigh the option of simply not going at all. I have, in the last 3 years, avoided Australia, Papeete and Phuket as well as several cross country flights to such exotic locales as Seattle and San Francisco. And to be perfectly honest I ain't missed a damned thing. I despise airports and airlines...all of them, every last fricking one of them. I will do business with them but if I can avoid it I will....

It doesn't make any difference. I tried it....I intentionally avoided cheap flights and paid more for flights during premium periods and the experience is the same...it is the nature of the beast, not the beasts themselves, that make air travel the worst thing to happen to mankind in years. I avoid cut rate airlines, fly during peak (most expensive) times and dates, avoid connecting flights like the plague, and the experience is the same whether it is first class on a mid-morning Delta flight or a 630 am Frontier Flight out of Vegas to Atlanta. The seat on the former flight is more comfortable but the airport is the same experience and the level of service is about the same. It all sucks and sucks bad.

There was a time when I felt private jet ownership was just people showing-off.

Then, after working for a company that owned a private jet and seeing the bill for the costs of routine maintenance and unforeseen repairs, hangar rental, and aircraft insurance, I kept asking myself how can this be worth it??

Well, I get it now.

I feel like I'm in a Petri dish every time I fly commercial. Just breathing the same air with some of the disgusting
filthy frickers grosses me out.

Flight ended up being lovely. Guy in the row in front of me decided to play the in-flight entertainment on speaker as high as his volume would go. I guess he was too poor to pick up a pair of headphones.

Other fatty proceeded to eat his chic-fil-a and smelled the whole area up with condiments.

Been that way for a while.

Sad, really.

I think this is partially (obviously there are just shitty people in the world anywhere) a result of the airlines continuing to more and more treat passengers like cattle. The planes and seats continue to get smaller, they jam more and more people into a plane, there are less and less of any kind of perk, amenity or even a smiling face, all while the fares continue to skyrocket. The airline doesn't give a shite about the passenger anymore as long as they pay up. They treat everyone like cattle, as a result, you get people that act like cattle.

The seats are too small for me so I wear my lounge pants because I deserve to be comfortable.

I wish they would take away the drink service. I’m not a fan of the stewardesses banging around the aisle so some fatty can have a couple sips of Diet Coke.

I miss Pan-Am. People actually had class when flying and would wear suits and ties

The Emirates Airlines stewardess & crew know about class.

They get a second glance from everyone in an airport just by walking through the concourse.
