Do you think Popeyes will add some culture/spice to their AI?
Add in some attitude and purposely have it place some wrong orders randomly thought out the day based on location?

With that in mind I'll move to northern New Hampshire
Many get a form of UI now and still commit crime. All you're doing is subsidizing them.

UI as the dead beats won't go to work anymore. Those of us that want more money will. However, dead beats will put more effort into crime

It has been done before and it did not go over well. It will not go over well any time soon. Fast food restaurants only ever had a couple of things going for them...they were fast and cheap. They are neither now and have not been for many years...they ain't getting any better with or without people.
As far as universal income goes we have had that also for a long time. The majority of people make their nut through employment and many have required a subsidization of their housing, transportation, medical, training and nutritional needs through various and sundry government programs for a long time. There is nothing new in either concept...entire meals have been available in unmanned vending machines for years and subsidies for low or no income individuals has been around as well...

UBI is gonna be necessary very soon whether people like it politically or not.
If we paid all working age Americans $1000 per month it would be somewhere around 33-40% of our total current Federal budget.
shite you can barely buy groceries for a family with that now

So what do people do when there aren't enough jobs to go around? Especially low level service jobs
Its been predicted for a long time that corporations, as the need actual low level workers less and less, will contribute to a UBI fund and many eligible people will just get UBI to do nothing.
The corporations save money by not having to pay out benefits, PTO, insurance, worker's comp etc etc etc. They just contribute collectively huge sums and most people sit at home on their fat asses.

So they aren't really saving money. They're just indirectly giving it to people rather than hiring them.

But what about muh $15 minimum wage?

a fast food restaurant machine doesnt need AI....
you already place your order on a screen at Taco Bell and MacDonald's. The machine only needs to be able to make the items on the menu based on the choices of the customer.
This does not require "Artificial Intelligence"

Our country will let people starve to death before providing UBI.

Taking orders at a fast food restaurant would probably be an improvement.
However, don't quite see the push for robots making your fast food orders quite yet. The technology to do this has existed for a long time, but still has not been worth the costs. I am sure we are getting closer, but a burger flipper robot could have been made a long time ago before the "AI push". It is all whether or not it makes sense from a cost perspective.

I don't really go to fast food places anymore, but thinking back, there will probably be a lot of less messed up or missing orders.

Please start with Popeyes first. Thanks AI

Up to this point but all technology gets cheaper over time while also getting more efficient.
Flippers will be replaced eventually.
BTW, this dude used a robot and a CNC to make handwritten postcards. He has a great Youtube channel if you like engineering.

Get ready to be dependent on universal income
Getting rid of the need to have human labor as an economic input is not a bad thing. It should be something we are all cheering for to happen.

politicians deciding how much money you will have.
This is the bad thing, but it's also a necessary thing, because I don't think the major companies that will be left standing after all of this shakes out will want to give us any more than the bare minimum to ensure their existence unless the government, ie We The People, forces them to do more than the bare minimum.
There are several paths we can take from here. We're hoping for Star Trek style utopia and dreading a Terminator style rise of the machines. We currently appear to be heading for a cross between Wall E and Idiocracy.
