I handle all of the infrastructure at my company. Our policy is not to block message boards, netflix, youtube, or the like. If you are not a quality employee who is watching netflix over completing his work, it will become apparent really quickly and you will get fired.

I can always tell who the next employee fired is going to be by looking at their traffic.

I'm not running a nanny state. Survival of the fittest.

I got nervous a time or two when I heard one of the higher-ups at my company refer to TD posters as a bunch of idiots when playing Monday morning QB after an LSU game.

They blocked the SEC Rant for awhile when I was in a few years ago, then mysteriously it was accessible again.

But no reddit or Texags or anything. Couldn't even use Gmail chat. So strange

TD gets blocks on rare occasions at my work. Falls under the filter of "inappropriate" or "tasteless".

I used to run into issues where the homepage was blocked, but you go directly to the forums and be fine.

I always thought the OT should be user only. A lot of stuff gets posted here and who knows who is reading it.

Yeah that resident had mentioned he doesn't post at all, just reads it. Says he finds it pretty amusing and how much he loves the site in general. The whole time I'm just praying he doesn't say anything like "Hey, there is a poster that lives in AZ that is also a peds nurse...wait" This was several years ago....went to posting only from my phone at work from that day forward

That is a testament to the Larry's level of raunchiness.

The only things blocked here for me are some pics that get posted. We can't use personal email, or any media streaming sites, and obviously adult sites.

What I found odd, not at this job but my previous one, was that message boards were free, Pandora and YouTube were fine, but Sports Illustrated's entire site was blocked as adult content because they have one little section online each year for the Swimsuit edition.

I usually watch Netflix while completing my work. It has zero effect on my work.

Until the day a new resident was in the nurse's station and saw TD on my computer and commented "Oh I love that site! I'm from Louisiana and read that site all the time, they have some crazy people that post on there."

He/she must frequent the Poli board

My work doesn't block anything, but I post exclusively from my phone. I know other people in my building post here, and I would feel weird admitting to being on here.

I work in IT and that's actually true for anyone in my department... but I know that's not the norm.

Like for instance - I use to work in a very big Marketing heavy industry, if I noticed a high surge in Youtube and Netflix usage from one of those employees... they were usually gone within the next 6 months.

Also, TD will never be blocked where I work, I wouldn't allow it.

More power to you then, IMO. All we really care about are employees producing quality work. Unless your title starts with Chief or VP, then you can be a buffoon and not be fired.

Wendy's WiFi blocks TD.com tagging it a lingerie/bikini site along with sports/message board.

I got on other sports message boards there though, so Larry is definitely negatively contributing to the site's WiFi image.
